Just wondering if there is such a thing - I am from Western Canada and a lot of Canadian teams are seemingly not willing too travel much anymore - I have contacts in the U.S. that I could play for but will not be able to fulfill residency requirements anymore due Family dynamics - Is there or can there be some sort of waiver to accommodate a situation like this
Look on page 84 of the current SSUSA Rule Book to see the (Western) Canadian provinces you are eligible to play for along with the ('bordering') USA states--Alaska, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, and Washington.
Also, look on page 65 of the same book, specifically, Section 13.1(3)A2 and it says all men's teams (with some exceptions) may draw up to 2 players from any state west/east of the Mississippi depending on your home state. Importantly, teams from AZ, CA, HI, NV, and OR are NOT allowed this option.
As a western Canadian, you might qualify to play as one of the 2 allowed "non-bordering state players," but you should check with SSUSA for clarification.
No waiver needed. It's right in the Rule Book. Good luck.
I know John. He is not exaggerating his ability.
