I just had stem cell injections in my knees three weeks ago and they are very sore.Has anyone had these injections and what was your reaction to them?
Yes, I had them like 8 months ago. Maybe my knee is pass that point but they were not effective. Nothing going to take the place of that needed surgery.
Tried all the injections available for both my knees. Didn't help and just spent more money. Had the first knee done in 2012 and Doc says will out last me. Second knee in 2025 to go with both hips. Don't wait get it done, recovery is about 4 months before playing 85% 100% after that. I turn 80 this year.
1st question is---- Where were the stem cells from? If the cells were not from you or placenta cells just hrs old, the cells you had injected were dead. Hard to hear, I know.
I did both knees in 2018. Stem cells from my bone marrow. From the Dr that invented the process.
Stem cells plus PPR. Plasma rich Protein. Stem cells are the seed and PPR is the fertilizer.
50% improvement in 3 months. Must add knee exercises. Go to web sites Knees over toes for the best exercises.
Walking backwards is the gold standard of healthy knees.
I had my right total hip replacement in 2014 and back to playing tournaments 4 months later, 100% back in nine months. So when my right left hip and right knee became very painful, in 2019, I did stem cell, prp and masking injections to help my new stem cells grow. They were my cells plus some cryogenic stem cells. The swelling was significant for a few weeks and gradually dissipated. Then, I went through twice a week physical therapy and twice a week low impact resistance training. Started playing ball four months after the procedure. I had a second shot of my stem cells six months later and followed the same rehab procedure.
Result is it may have delayed the eventual need to replace, but not sure. Clarification point, I am 6 ft. tall and weigh 160 lbs., and play third base. So, not a lot of weight or stress on the joints. I replaced the left hip and both knees in 2022 and 2023. I still play five to eight games a week and eight tournaments a year. I alpine ski 10-15 times a year. With all that, the pain is low and swelling minimal. Advice, never give up, it is too much fun to miss.
