question: my ssusa 60aaa team did not go to the vegas worlds this year, but one of my players did. He played on a 55aaa team. They finished high enough for them to be a 55 major team next year. How does this affect his status for my team next year? Can he play on a 60aaa team next year, even though he will be classified as 55 major? Thanks.

I'm curious too...I have subbed with a 50's team before and didn't even think about it affecting my status on my 60's team...

According to the index a 55 M would not be eligible to play 60 AAA.

I would check with SSUSA if he was a pickup for this tournament and was not on their roster for the whole year.

It depends on whether he got a one time release and exemption.

If he did for one game - he does not get the status of major - and can return

This past summer was gonna be a utility player on local 70M team playing in ssusa qualifier tournament in CT. Wx was very hot/humid,so an extra player was helpful. I joined 3yrs ago as a 70, was assigned a default rating of 70AAA,and played in only 1 70AAA tournament with total 8 at bats my first year. I'm not a "ringer" by any stretch of the imagination,so didn't think much of this move. But, I did check with HQ in SAC, and was surprised that this would elevate me to 70M status immediately and for the next couple years. I tried but did not get picked up by any 70AAA teams in this tournament. Also had to decline offer from 70M to play,.. just could not accept a rating upgrade outside my playing ability. I do understand the need for safeguards to prevent roster abuses by the few,but it's discouraging. I'm looking at alternatives for next year. Tku Geo
