At what point can teams stop wondering if they are getting rerated (I hear it happens in June)?
I expect your manager ALREADY knows.
Then probably not happening one way or the other. If you were moved up, not likely they will reverse without complete roster do over for at least a year.
Mike ... This is the time of the year where semantics are in play ... More than a few teams "know" they should be moved but hold out hope they can pull off one more safe trip hiding in the tall grass without being noticed and "officially informed" of one! ... Right now, the eligibility and rating folks are (and have been) reviewing teams entered in the ongoing (Northern) and imminent upcoming (SoCal Champs and Land of Enchantment in Albuquerque) events ... The plan is to be substantially concluded with the entire semi-annual rating review by the end of June, which could result in another three weeks of minor anxiety for some folks! ...
June 30, are we ok going forward to assume that are current rating is the rating for the rest of 2025?
The targeted "official release date" for the mid-year rating review changes is Wednesday, July 2nd ...
Will team managers be contacted either way in response to their rerating request?
Yes. Every team that was moved up/down based on performance, or filed an appeal will be notified of the decision of the Mational Ratings Committee. This will occur tonight or tomorrow (Thursday) in most cases.
So I assume it's safe to say if we don't get notification by tomorrow evening we will continue in our same division.
Double Dee ... We all know the old cliche about "assumptions" and how risky it can occasionally be to make them ... The National Rating Committee is readying the outbound correspondence for an "email drop" they hope will conclude by later this (Thursday) afternoon ... It may also not get done until Monday ... ... If there are any relevant notices for either of your current 2025 teams, they will hit Joe C's inbox first ...
None of the teams in Ca everyone was talking about got bumped. Maybe no one was bumped!
SSUSA
You need to change the way you rerate teams.
4 years ago, we got lucky and made it to Sunday in Vegas.
4 of our guys left and we had to forfeit on Sunday morning (That's how lucky we got, players booked return flights on Sunday because of how our team played all year. They didn't think we make it that far.)
We got bumped (no problem) It is in the rules.
We played the next season in majors and got killed (6-26)
Said no to getting bumped back to AAA (All other associations moved us back to AAA, without us asking, they all know we are NOT a major team.)
Played the next season and was in the middle of the pack in AAA (did not play SSUSA)
Was told that unless we play in more SSUSA tournaments, we would not get moved.
(Sponsor wont play or pay in major, no sense in going to tournaments where you have no chance to compete, not win just compete.
Was told no again
This year were won 1 game (1-11) in AAA before coming in 2nd in a tournament.
All the teams that are beating us are rated AAA in SSUSA
Was denied again since we didn't play in any SSUSA .
There HAS to be something done to rerate teams from other association tournaments..
It just doesn't make any sense to keep a team in majors when they truly can NOT compete there.
This is supposed to be about fairness to teams.
SSUSA needs to take a closer look at how they rate teams
Just because a team has ONE good weekend in Vegas, they shouldn't be punished for the rest of eternity. Maybe if a team gets in the top 10 2 years in a row, then move them or look at the rest of their season and see if Vegas was a fluke or the real deal. Have some common sense. We are old guys playing a game that is suppose to be fun and competitive.
If you want my team name, ask, I will put it in a reply, but I am sure you know who we are.
Coop - I get that you feel like you have a valid reason for a rerating but honestly, coming onto their website and starting the post with "You need to change the way you rerate teams." might NOT be the best way to go about that?
So you guys got moved down in ISSA, that's great, happy for you. Now assume that you have aged up to 65 you want to go play in Vegas because you guys like to play in Vegas. I get that as well. But based on their rules, NOT ISSA, you need to play x amount of tourneys and show that you can't compete but as you stated, you only tried the one year and maybe you weren't as bad in the SSUSA tourneys? (and yes, I know how that works, we won Vegas in 2015 and we did not play well as a M team in 2016, went 0 - 5 first tourney but sadly we lost, just didn't get beat bad enough! lol) I will add that we just kept playing Major and tried to get better, not always winning but needless to say we have been playing Major since (and yes, we played AAA in ISSA for a time even though we were Major in SSUSA).
The issue I see is that ISSA allows teams to pick up players from different teams when they are short so IMO a LOT of AAA teams would be Major in SSUSA due to that particular allowance. Not all, but quite a few so you saying you are getting beat by AAA teams they actually might be M in SSUSA (like us at the time), make sense?
And you are correct, we are old guys and it's a game that is supposed to be fun. The competitive part is cool as well but should not be the most important aspect of playing (yes, I wrote it but wasn't easy! lol)
Good luck!
As mck71 points out, roster rules between the two Associations are significantly different. Comparing records and results in ISSA vs SSUSA is also difficult.
Here is what is not difficult-
The team was asked to "play more" SSUSA, then submit a reclass request.
The team's record for 2024 was 0-0.
The team's record for 2025 is currently 0-0.
I'm curious what teams opinions are when comparing the quality and amount of quality competition in their local ssusa tournaments as they see in the ssusa Las Vegas Worlds?
