Sept. 28 LeeM Men's 70 40 posts | At what age can a player age up to an 80 team. Currently play on 75s. |
Sept. 28 DaveDowell Men's 70 4443 posts | Men’s 80+ teams may draw up to 7 players aged 78 or 79, with a maximum of three who are 78. |
Sept. 30 Pepper 10 posts | What about a player born in 1947 (eligible per above to play 80s in 2025). Can he play in the Winter Worlds this Nov on an 80s team since this is a 2025 roster event?? Just asking as there are few opportunities locally and want to lock in an 80s team for next year. Thanks |
Oct. 1 DaveDowell Men's 70 4443 posts | Pepper ... YES, you may appear on an 80+ division 2025 roster IF that team has a remaining underage exemption player spot for a 78-year-old available to them ... If you have any further questions, please call the Sacramento Home Office at (916) 326.5303 during normal business hours in the Pacific Time Zone ... Good luck! |
Oct. 1 garyheifner 653 posts | A team with 7 players 78 or 79 vs a team with all over 80 has a huge advantage just in athletic ability. I believe 7 is far too many. |
Oct. 2 DaveDowell Men's 70 4443 posts | garyheifner ... A couple of years ago, the National Rules Committee passed Rules amendments to phase out the roster exemptions for underage players in the 75+ and 80+ divisions ... There was significant opposition after the fact from those more senior age divisions, resulting in the exemptions being reinstated ... The Committee will be meeting again this year in Tucson at the Annual Convention during the first week of December ... You are most welcome to attend, or to submit a proposal in writing, if you would like us to re-visit this issue ... Thanks! |
