Safety & Security at BLD in Vegas
I'm sure this addressed every year, but I thought I would ring the bell again. Two years ago, an AZ player had his truck stolen out of the BLD parking lot mid-Saturday afternoon during Worlds and this past April at the Southwest Championships 65AAA there were two cars that I heard about had their driver's side lock taken out and the door damaged with a crowbar. Both players were told by BLD staff and the local police that BLD is in a bad neighborhood. I'm asking if SSUSA is requiring BLD to have some type of security in the parking lot to protect our vehicles, when I asked the "security person" standing at the gate in April he said there was none? The $8 charge per person to use the facility is always a good discussion starter but is BLD not willing to negotiate providing safety to our players for the revenue SSUSA brings in annually? All players have the option not to play at any facility they don't feel safe at, but we're also relying on SSUSA to keep us & our families safe.
