looks like Wednesday afternoon and Thursday could be washed out, any updates on what the plan is?
Here's the "script" our office staff is using when calls come in ... It's relevant here, too ...
__________
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY/PROCEDURE
All "Play/No-Play" decisions are made by the Tournament Director AT THE FIELD OF PLAY AT GAME TIME ... We do NOT cancel a tournament based upon a forecast ... Your team, by rule, should be present on-site and ready to play 30 minutes prior to the scheduled game time ...
The actual Inclement Weather procedures appear at Rulebook §10.1(1) • TOURNAMENT PLAYED OR MODIFIED on page 56 ...
Thank you and Good Luck

Dave - while I understand and empathize with the dilemma of cancellations, I don’t believe the spirit of that rule is intended for tropical storms/hurricanes. I would hope that SSUSA would consider the expenses each player incurs for a tournament like this. That said, I will be there with my team to play whenever fields are ready
Orlando Airport Operational Update – Tropical Storm Nicole
Together with our partners, a decision has been made to cease commercial operations at 4:00pm on Wednesday, November 9th, until circumstances permit operations resume.
so is this still happening? Seems dangerous to have people trying to travel there during a tropical storm.......
You really need to cancel Friday, so hopefully fields are ready for Saturday.
UPDATE - Palm Beach Airport is CLOSED, Orlando Airport is CLOSED . Martin County / Stuart Florida the Ocean has broken through the barrier Island and has meet the Inter Coastal / Indian River. Palm Beach - The Inter-Coastal waterway is now over the sea walls and is flooding property. It is low tide right now and high tide will be tonight around 12 with a Full Moon flood tide. The storm will head North West inland to the middle of the state...... The middle of the state remains flooded in low lying areas from Hurricane IAN .That's about where we are all playing softball. Good Luck guys and safe travels.
Maybe you should have signed up for Arizona. Weathers is fantastic over here. Sunny and around 70 degrees
Any update, now that the website is back up?
Plan for session 2, results session 1.
Short version: Session #1 was terminated after Wednesday games because all Polk County Parks and Rec. personnel were diverted from the parks and placed into service today (Thursday) on Roads and other essential municipal disaster-services zones ... SSUSA is working directly with Polk County on a tournament plan that allows for all schedule Session #2 games to be played beginning a bit later on Friday ... We're trying to find a kiln to dry out the Session #1 results, so a bit of patience is going to be required on that ...
Hey 1 Bounce - I posted the weather on the 9th not the 10 as you comments reflect. The weather was not ideal yesterday as a matter of fact it was so bad that SSUSA ONLY allowed teams to play 5 innings and use 2 out of the 3 fields at Diamondplex. They even cancelled all final games today. Now what were you saying about Arizona ? :>)) Go Kari Lake !
Under less than ideal conditions, the games went off on Tuesday at Diamondplex. We played our seeding games at 1 and 2:30 and they also moved our Thurs AM bracket games to that evening as we played under the lights. It was in this late afternoon when the rains picked up a bit and there were I think about 5 times it rained so hard teams were called off the fields Most games were completed but the rains left both C and D unplayable so they used just A and B. Tim and the crew was doing everything possible to get as many game in using just the 2 of 4 fields including 5 inning games in the constant drizzle and windy conditions.
