Age breakdowns going forward
As my team moves to age 75 Team next year, I realize there are some age 74 players that can be on an age 75 roster. I had heard that there will also be one age 73 allowed on the 75 roster. Is there any truth to this. Thanks, Kuuup22

The SSUSA National Rules Committee meets once a year, at the annual convention in late November ... The Agenda is released shortly before then, and age composition is a common discussion point ... Currently, age 75+ teams may have four underage players, all of whom must be 74 ... There is NO provision currently in SSUSA sanctioned events for 73 year old players to be on a 75+ roster ... So the answer to your question is: "There is NO truth to this"

Hi Bill ... You can get an item on the list for possible inclusion on the Official National Rules Committee Agenda by sending identifiable written correspondence (email or snail-mail) to the Rules Committee ... Identifiable means not anonymously submitted, and the Committee specifically excludes anything proposed in this Message Board ...

Email is probably the easiest way ... Write up your proposal, or plan on attending in person to make your presentation/case, and send it to info@seniorsoftball.com ... Please put "Rules Committee" in the subject line ... All correspondence is forwarded to the Chair of the National Rules Committee, Donna McGuire ... That's all it takes, and your submission will be seen and considered by the committee membership ... If there is enough member interest in the proposal, it could make it on to the Official Agenda ... Good luck! ...

Dave, I just had a player tell me that SSUSA rules were just changed to all 70 teams to have two underage. I don’t believe this has happened. I believe it will come up in yearly meeting but that the player is wrong as of this date and time.

Would you speak to that please.

Michael ... Whoever told you that has made a reckless, false statement that has absolutely no basis in fact ... The National Rules Committee will be meeting in about six weeks, and that will be the ONLY time this year that rules changes are considered ... Pay no attention to the individual on this topic ... He is more than likely (98% or so probability) enjoying a moment of fictional wishful thinking ...
