Dalton tournament
Hey SSUSA
Since we only have (4) 60 AAA teams, Will you please make it a Saturday and Sunday tournament?
With the hotel and gas prices like they are, it will be nice to save one night on the hotel.
Please let us know.
Thanks
Brett Cooper

Ya good luck with that Brett. Last week we played in Columbus Played the finals of the winners bracket on Friday at 12:30 and didn't play again until finals of the losers bracket on Saturday at 3:30. Some 26 hours later

These are different folks running this tournament.
Hopefully they will make it a sat/sun tournament.
I would love to save a night of hotel and not missing work another day.
It gets expensive.
Either way I will be there, just trying to put in my 2 cents.

I agree 100%. With 25 total teams, I don't see the need to spread this over three days. Saving the cost of an extra night of hotel expenses and taking Friday off work would be nice!

coop3636 and JDSmith67-

Don't make the mistake of assuming this is a 4 team tournament. It's actually a 24 team tournament. With 5 games guaranteed for each, this mix of teams requires 86 games to complete.

Men's 65-70-75 = 4 teams (6 seed + 7 bracket)
Men's 60 Major / AAA = 6 teams (9 seed + 10 bracket)
Men's 50-55 Major = 4 teams (6 seed + 7 bracket)
Men's 50 AAA = 5 teams (5 seed + 11 bracket)
Women's 40-50 = 5 teams (5 seed + 11 bracket)

Assuming 5 diamonds and no inclement weather, you're talking about 17 rounds of games. You're not getting that done in 2 days.

I understand.
I forget it was a 5 game guarantee.

There is only 22 teams now, so it can be a Sat/Sun tournament.
Hopefully next year it will be advertised better, I Know there are many teams that like to go to Dalton and play.
IE in 2 weeks, there are LOTS of teams playing there.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Brett ... I could theoretically schedule it in two days for the required 22 teams playing a potential 70 games IF the park would let us play Saturday night games at 9:30 and 11:00 PM (ending after midnight), and push the Sunday "If" games into the 5:00 PM time slot ... I won't be asking them for either option because that puts unreasonable demands on the teams, the park staff and the tournament staff/umpires ... I'll start the Friday games a bit later to accommodate the later-start-request teams ... This is a three-day event, as has been advertised for over seven months ... Good luck! ...

What's the purpose of the 5 game guarantee? Why not just do 4 game as most others do?

No problem
I will be there..

Ib16..I love the 5 game guarantee.. I travel 6 hours to most tournaments, I like knowing that even if you have a bad weekend, you get to play more games.
It also lets folks that don't get to play all the time more playing time.

coop - I have a long drive as well, but I would rather to not have to take an extra day off from work for one more game. Just my opinion!
