Do not want catcher or umpire leg guards, but one that an infielder can use and move around with easily. |

June 29, 2022 Birdman65 Men's 70 20 posts | By far the lightest and best shin guard is made by Lacrosse company "STIX" (Valor Lacrosse Goalie Shin Guards.) It's a college lacrosse goalie's shin guard. They are very light and cover from the knee to the top of the foot and ankle guards that are elongated to cover the outside and inside of your ankle. I highly recommend them as a shortstop in my Colorado Springs 60s + league had his leg (tibia) broken with a line drive as he was not wearing anything. I'm 5-9 170 and wear a large that is perfect. Also, they wrap around cover almost all of the back of your calf. Maybe only and inch-inch and a half depending on your body type. Nothing so far can compare. Stix website has them listed at $59.99. They are super light with hard plastic type outer and thin rubber cushioning on the inside. They do not sweat and are so light you don't know you have then on. I also wear them while playing the outfield and when I bat for extra protection from a bad throw skipping into my ankles or shin. They only come in white on the outside with a thin grey rubber cushion. Look them up on the "Stix" website. Make sure they have your size. I just went to the website Stx.com and they only have Large as of now. Keep checking or see if there is a store nearby that carries the STIX equipment. I would call first. Good luck and play safe. |
June 29, 2022 Turbobob Men's 65 71 posts | Birdman65. Went to the site and saw what you mentioned. Can I attach and wear them over my pant legs for easy on-off removal between innings, or must they be worn directly attached to the legs? |
