60 MAJOR DIVISION FIELDS FOR VEGAS WORLDS
Hi Dave,
I see the 60 Division drew the short straw again this year for Spring Worlds and will be playing in Mesquite as was the case last year. As I am sure SSUSA will once again schedule games on the Baseball fields is any consideration being given to putting up some temporary fences on those fields? Not having them really changes the game and not for the better. An outfielder can wear out pretty quick chasing the ball to the fence on those fields, trust me I know.

That's funny stuff, Bert ... Since the St. George facilities are NOT available to us for Session 1 (the Men's 60's), there wasn't any need to draw straws of any length ... ALL 60's are playing in Mesquite because that's simply preferable to the alternative of not playing at all ...

As for the fencing issue, no temporary short fencing is allowed at Hunter Park #3 because of the prohibition against driving stakes into the artificial turf sub-surface ... We have, way back when, occasionally put up snow fencing at Pioneer Park #3, but it's been awhile and the fencing was owned by a private third party who wasn't SSUSA or the City of Mesquite ... I'll do my best to minimize games on the respective Fields #3 and balance them across divisions, but it's unreasonable to expect that the Session 1 can be scheduled on just two fields at both parks ... Good luck!

The rule of thumb, for some teams, playing Hunter #3, is if it's over your head or through the gap, walk back and pick it up. Sometimes, even using four OF, doesn't work.
