Discussion: Winter worlds

Any results from the first session of winter worlds posted anywhere?
JBTexas ... All Session #1 Game Scores and Bracket Results (for 65+ and more senior divisions) are posted online through the links on the event tournament page and the schedule post message at the top of the Message Board ...
Thanks Dave, there now wasn't first thing when I checked this morning.
Dave, Why wasn't this done for for the Winter Nationals?

You folks know this is an issue for hundreds if not thousands of players/fans yet you can't find a way to get this done after years of folks raising this as a MAJOR issue/complaint?

Suggestion: Hire a high school/college intern to take care of this. Should be quite simple for them to figure out what you folks can't seem to get right...
Here we go again ... In order of your observations ...

1. Because nobody in Florida sent me the scores from the Winter National's ... This is a ONE copy system, not in the public domain ... If I get time to do the data entry, great ... But I can't do much in an information vacuum ...
2. I'm aware of the noise from a few of the commentators here, and so are the technicians and programmers who have been chasing a custom solution to match my custom system design for about six years ... Good or bad, there's nothing else like this system ... The techies know a lot about bits and bytes, and nothing about monster brackets and the nuances of balanced scheduling, cross-regional match ups and seeding;
3. I doubt that a high school kid will be able to write the interface to the sole-author proprietary scheduling/scoring system ... It's 100% custom and doesn't "hang" on any off the shelf framework ... You not knowing anything at all about it is probably a contributing factor to your gross overstatement of the ease with which the technical issues and external design criteria involved can be overcome ... But that's OK, too, since I'm not going to lose any sleep over it!

To not make things too complicated:

1. Have the Tournament Directors of each Tournament send a photo of the completed brackets at the end of each day.
2. While the technicians/programmers are working on a "custom solution" ...see above.
3. Have an intern then enter the info sent from the TD (if staff are too busy to do so). They can do it while working remotely.
It's not about complications, but it is ALL about personnel ... We lost a 12-year tenured staff person last week and the most recent four hires in the past month that have accepted job offers from us have failed to show up! ... Post-pandemic staffing is a nearly impossible task, and we know we're not the Lone Ranger ... We deploy the resources we have in the most sensible manner knowing that's probably not going to please everyone ... Thanks for the suggestions ...
You can & should have an APP developed at a very reasonable price. I have a resource if you can't find one. It's the right time to move into the 21st century and use technology to everyone's benefit.
OK, I guess, despite your poorly disguised insult ... By the way, all Winter World's game scores and bracket results are online as of Sunday night ... You're welcome ... Happy Turkey Day ...
D², if no one else will say it ... Great job posting the scores and bracket results as quickly as you (staff) did for this tourney.
What insult? I'm offering a solution that will make your organization better for everyone, fans and players alike.
You: "..It's the right time to move into the 21st century..."
Me: Completely disinterested in an attitude like that from someone (you) with absolutely zero comprehension of the nature of this proprietary custom scheduling/scoring system, and therefore zero knowledge of how this works ... I'm the ONLY person with that system on my computer AND the only user ... If I have the time, I'll do the data work as efficiently as I can ... If not, the SSUSA Office will post scans of the scoring sheets to the tournament page (like they did for the Winter National's) ... Your Talaga Construction went to that event, but there wasn't anyone you know on that team you could have called to see how things were going?? ... If you're that interested in "instant scoring updates", The Golf Channel is perfect for you ...

David- Shame on you for being so defensive! Your frustration is coming through loud and clear.
That's funny! ... It's a new Season and with it comes a new approach here ... ‌I don't particularly care what ill-informed anonymous posters type, but I may call out the more egregious offenders from time to time just for fun ... It has nothing to do with defensive, in fact it's just the opposite! ... It's also fun to point out that all scores for both of the recent Winter events are online and available ... Call a friend who is there next time if our schedule doesn't meet with your desires ...
