| Oct. 23, 2021 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | Arizona Scorpions Senior Softball Club – Steve Hilby #24 It is with a heavy heart that we inform our softball community that we have lost a wonderful teammate, Steve Hilby. Steve succumbed to Covid 19, Friday night, Oct 22, 2021. Steve was integral part to the success of the Scorpion Softball club. His versatility, consistency as a player, and commitment to team made him invaluable teammate. He was asked to play shortstop on more than one occasion; he was so smooth, you failed to notice he was left-handed. Whether running for another teammate or hitting in the clutch, Steve was always up to the challenge. Apart from his athletic endeavors, Steve was a loving husband, respected educator, teacher, coach, and mentor. If you wanted to know where the Scorpions were in the park, you only had to look for Cindy and Steve. Cindy, hands down the best scorekeeper around plus being the keeper of the cookies and Steve with the wagon containing chair, umbrella, blankets, scorebook, score flipchart, and said cookies. The consummate power couple. Details concerning Steve’s celebration of life will be forthcoming. |
