Northern Championships
I would like to thank Joe & Betty Yacono who were in charge at Erickson Field in Lansing, Mi. This was my 1st experience in working with them. They were so easy to work with. If there was a problem, they dealt with it professionally and were always respectful. Considering the hand they were dealt, I thought things were handled very well on a local level by everyone who was involved. My disappointment comes with the decisions that were made in California regarding the 65-70 bracket changes. A suggestion was made to create 3 brackets. A suggestion that had merit. As it turned out this suggestion was not adopted. But the worst thing about it is that, they didn’t have the consideration of letting me know that it wouldn’t be changed. I said that their scenario had the potential for no 70 team to earn a berth to the TOC or the World’s. That is exactly what happened. You can look at my posts, I have always tried to be positive. I’ve always felt very fortunate to be able to play SSUSA Tournaments. I’ve always felt this was well organized and always felt respected. So to say this is a disappointment would be an understatement. Thanks for the ability to voice my opinion. We are all here because the love of the game. Mutual respect is what it’s all about.
