This doesn't exactly answer your question, but I wear bifocal contacts (in one eye) for everyday life, but when I play softball I have other contacts that are just single vision. I don't need to read when I am playing softball and I want to be able to see distance as well as possible when playing. My eyes are corrected to 20:15 with single vision lenses and just 20:25 with my multifocal lenses.

Thanks Murry. I have a set for distance when I play. I tried the contact in one eye and it messed with my balance. I will most likely stay with what I have as you suggest Just wanted to see what others thought. Thanks again.

Rather than bifocal contacts, several years ago I opted for monovision contacts, where one eye is corrected for distance, and the other eye corrected for up close. It has worked great for me, although I understand it may not work for everyone. The few times I've had to play in my bifocal glasses, it has not went well.
