Great weekend to play. Cedar Hill park was a big disappointment.Field one had at least 13 lights that did not work and we played a full game on it that was very hard to see..Fences are way too short at 285..On the bright side we had some of the best umpires that we could have but on the flip side we had one Saturday that was as bad as they come!!! Honestly don't think the guy could see. Bad both ways

Cedar Hill was a very big disappointment for our team. Bathrooms were terrible, smelled terrible, no working hand dryers and no towels made it even worse. Our early evening games were hours behind, so we walked off the field after midnight for our 8:00 game. The lights were terrible, bulbs were out on each field making it dark, and completely non-playable on one field. They ran out of tournament balls, so they were selling two different balls by the end of the tournament. If there was a grounds crew, we did not see one single person working on the fields. The umpires were decent on Saturday, our two ladies on Sunday were excellent. We have put this tournament on our schedule the last few years, I do not think we will be back.

I agree about the fields.. They were VERY bad.
We played on the field with all the lights out, it was dangerous.
There are other fields around the Nashville area that are much better.
Hopefully they will use them for the next tournament
We did have good umps (except for the one on Saturday, he was probably the worse one we have had in many years)
It was so bad that both teams were just shaking our heads. Besides being bad, he had a LARGE ego problem.
I was just glad to have a tournament that was less that 6 hrs away.

PS.. When I went to try and buy balls on Sunday, the tournament director told me she was saving the last 3 balls for the major teams.
I flat told her that we were just as important as the majors and paid the same price to play.
She ended up selling me ONE ball.

We got there on weds and took bp on field #5 thurs and friday. (not used for this tournament) Field #4 was a mess and finally on sat morning (1) kid was out there covering the mud with hay. They didnt touch the field until then. RF was a muddy pit. (1) person out there putting hay down over the mud and basically covering it up was not the solution....and we played on it like that (all 8 games we played). I played RF for 2 games and it was the same at the end of the wknd NOT GOOD AT ALL. It's part of the game (I guess) BUT balls were getting hit down the RF line and with it being uneven both sat/sun balls bounced all over the place and running through mud covered with hay was dumb.

Are you sure you are posting about the correct tournament? We didn’t have any hay at Cedar Hill. No need for it, either.
