Aug. 21, 2020 cuddeback 10 posts | Worlds-field location If you have moved everything to St. George, UT for the Worlds, why does the website still show several playing facilities in NV? |
Aug. 21, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3483 posts | Because, based on current published information, Clark County, NV is "closed" only through the end of September ... Session #4 (50's divisions) is scheduled for early October ... We are not foolish enough to bet the mortgage on Las Vegas being "open" at that time, but until we receive assurances on that, OR until we secure an alternative location for Session #4, the Las Vegas facilities are technically listed as still in play ... It also appears that Session #3 will NOT be in either St. George or Las Vegas as of today, so we are still working on that and appropriate cities and fields will be listed as that comes together ... Thanks! |
Aug. 23, 2020 rudyh1999 10 posts | When will you make a decision on field locations for Mens 50's? Will it be before we have to pay for tournament? |
Aug. 23, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3483 posts | We've already made that decision (last November) ... The 50's Session #4 location is scheduled in Las Vegas from October 1-4, 2020 and remains the same as it's been scheduled for the past 8± months ... If that changes, we'll let you know immediately ... Las Vegas and Clark County are currently on COVID-Closure through September ... The Session #4 entry/payment deadline (also unchanged) is September 3rd ... |

Aug. 24, 2020 shortstopchic10 Women's 40 61 posts | Curious about 50s still being in schedule for Vegas. One of my friends lives in Vegas and her boys play baseball and she said they're locked down in Vegas and surrounding towns until November 1 |
Aug. 24, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3483 posts | Our phone conversations THIS AFTERNOON with the Las Vegas Mayor's office, the Nevada's Governor's office and correspondence with the Nevada Attorney General's office have all indicated a shutdown only through September and nothing beyond that ... We're not naive about how this can (and has) extend out, but for now we'll stick with what we're hearing officially from them, and thanks! |

Aug. 25, 2020 curveball Men's 65 705 posts | Bars got another 2 weeks of closure yesterday in Clark County. And yes, some casino/hotels are open(I think the number of them is 8). Bars serving food were allowed open for a while, social distancing rules in effect. They are allowed 16 slot machines by law, they were able to open 8 of them with 6" spacing. The County allowed them to open, then several weeks ago said close them. Yesterday they just added to the closure. LVSSA league and BP is still going at Lorenzi under a current permit. Strict social distancing practiced. |
Aug. 25, 2020 Wood_1966 Men's 55 164 posts | Slow down Curveball, let's not get LVSSA in hot water with the city. League is most definitely not happening at Lorenzi park under the current permit, only practices and BP. Social distancing and masks when not on the field are the order of business as Curveball stated. But while I am holding out hope that the Worlds will be able to take place for Session #4, I am not putting any money on it! |
Aug. 25, 2020 shortstopchic10 Women's 40 61 posts | Yeah my friend said they're having a hard time finding fields just to practice at. They're going to Utah almost every weekend into December. They have 1 tourney in Lake Havasu and 1 in Kingman other than that. She said teams have been getting fined otherwise |
