There is currently no decision to be made ... The LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships are still scheduled to be held from September 17th thru October 4th as indicated on the Tournament Page here for the event ... If that changes, we'll certainly advise you ... Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I ask cause we are about 7 weeks away and a lot of us have to book flights and hotels just want to know if you will have a cut off date where the staff of SSUSA will make a final decision to play or cancel.
So players and teams are not scrambling as time gets even closer.
The Huntsman has already made decision to cancel this year

The Huntsman Games draw from a wide global attendance area and have a bit different circumstance than we do ... Your best course of action with SSUSA events is to presume (as we do) that they will happen as scheduled unless a governmental entity intrudes and informs up otherwise by COVID-Closure directive ... If that happens, we'll certainly pass the word on to you folks pretty quickly! ...

I would not assume the Western Nationals (moved to St George) is in trouble just because Mesquite closed down and Huntsman was canceled. There are so many other Huntsman Games sports besides softball (although the biggest at the games) and the impact on the community (thousands of visitors) would be tough. The Huntsman Games usually has over 300 teams attend for softball, plus all of the other sports. Considerably more people than this tournament.

Also, the Huntsman Games is a world event, meaning many, many competitors from outside the US come to compete. Given the climate, getting into and out of the US is problematic for many, which would have turned the games into just a US event, which is not what the Games are about. I know in Softball there are a ton of teams from Canada that come to play and there was just no way they could come given the closing of the border.

As of right now, Saint George is ok. When I am there, masks are worn now daily in stores, people are trying to social distance. (Knock on wood) We have not seen the crazy rise in cases when compared with neighboring States NV and AZ. We do have cases and all is not perfect, but comparatively speaking we are hanging in there.
