| July 18, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3485 posts | SSUSA's EASTERN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2020 • "DRAFT" Game Schedules & Brackets DRAFT Game Schedules and Brackets for SESSION #1 (Men's 65+ and more senior) of the SSUSA's 2020 Eastern National Championships in Loudoun County, VA, have been posted and are available from the links below and on the event's Tournament page ... As always, these DRAFT schedules are TENTATIVE, are subject to change and become final ONLY when released as "OFFICIAL" just before play commences ... NOTE: There will NOT be a Managers' Meeting due to the restrictions arising from the COVID-19 Pandemic ... Managers are solely responsible for the accuracy and legitimacy of their tournament roster, and will not be sheltered from a legitimate protest by an opponent if that protest is determined to be meritorious ... The Master Games & Fields Grid and the Participating Teams List have been posted ... Good luck to all! ... As always, these DRAFT schedules are TENTATIVE, are subject to change and become final ONLY when released as "OFFICIAL" just before play commences ... The other caveats mentioned above for SESSION #1 apply here as well ... NOTE: The SATURDAY (only) brackets are currently UNDER CONSTRUCTION, and we'll be finishing those up in the next couple of days ... All FRIDAY and SUNDAY play is solid and was posted first to not delay what most of you are really interested in seeing: "Who do we play, when and where?" ... | July 20, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3485 posts | SESSION #1 REVISION • Due to the withdrawal/forfeiture out of the Eastern's by the 65-AA Syracuse Cyclones (NY), revisions were required to ALL divisions of play in Session #1 ... The changes have been posted to the online schedule sets, but you may need to "refresh" your download to view the current set ... Good luck everyone ... |
| July 22, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3485 posts | SESSION #1 COMPLETE REVISION • Due to a series of unfortunately timed events, the entire Session #1 component, except for the Men's 65-Major Division, was eliminated ... Here's what happened ... • One Men's 70-Major+ team withdrew/forfeited out of the tournament ... That caused the collapse of the 70-Major+ Division, leaving the other 70-Major+ team with nobody to play and they were dismissed from the event ... • Tuesday morning the States of NY, CT and NJ, as part of a tri-state compact, decreed that anyone entering their states from any number of other states, including Virginia, would be subject to a 14-day-quarantine upon entry ... There were 24 teams entered in the Eastern National's with roster players from at least one of the three restricted tri-states ... SSUSA gave those teams to option to withdraw overnight Tuesday at no economic burden ... Nearly 20 teams exercised that option ... The three 65-Gold teams all withdrew, which also collapsed the Men's 70/75-Major Division, giving them nobody to play either ... All five teams ultimately withdrew ... • The remaining six teams comprise both the 65-Major Division AND the entirety of Session #1 ... Good luck guys! |
| July 23, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3485 posts | SESSION #1 REVISITED • Late Wednesday afternoon we were notified that a 65-Major team (Party Time from NC) had to withdraw because of a positive COVID-19 test for a member of their team ... The resultant withdrawal moves the 65-Major Division down from six to five teams ... Changes are online ... SESSION #2 COMPLETE REVISION • Consistent with the Tuesday imposition of the tri-state quarantine order by NY/NJ/CT affecting their citizens traveling back home from Virginia, there was a dramatic and comprehensive detrimental effect on about every division of play for both Men and Women ages 40-Masters through 60's ... Approximately 20 teams withdrew from the tournament ... The revisions are now posted online, and you may require a "refresh" of your downloads to view the current version(s) dated 07/23/2020 ... We sure hope this is the last of the schedule editing for this one and GOOD LUCK everyone! ... Thanks for your cooperation and patience and please play and stay safe! |
| July 27, 2020 SSUSA Staff 3485 posts | ANOTHER SESSION #2 REVISION • We were notified earlier today of the late withdrawal of a 55-Major team (Carolina A's) due to COVID-19 impacts affecting their team ... Changes affected ONLY the 55/60-Platinum Division, reducing it from seven to six teams, and a very nominal, and favorable, change in the Women's Division Saturday play ... Their games will now end one round earlier on Saturday evening ... Changes are all online (you may have to "refresh" your download) ... Good luck everyone ... Please play and BE safe! ... Thanks! |
