Fountain Hills Memorial Weekend Senior Tournament May 21 22 23 24

The Town of Fountain Hills is hosting its first ever Senior Softball Memorial Weekend Tournament! (The Town will only run this tournament if local leaders and CDC guidelines allow based on COVID-19 restrictions. If there are still limits on gatherings and events over a certain number of people, we will be forced to cancel. The health and safety of our residents is our number one priority.)

Games will be played from May 21 – May 24. There will be two divisions:

Division 1: 50+, 55+, 60+ | Games played Sat & Sun | 18 team limit
Division 2: 65+, 70+, 75+ | Games played Thurs & Fri | 18 team limit

The cost is $350/team. Early registration is encouraged but payment will not be due until May 14th. The system will require you to enter a payment method but you will not be charged until May 14th via auto-withdrawal. If the tournament cancels, we will cancel all registrations prior to May 14th and you will not be charged.

The registration deadline is May 11th, a decision to confirm or cancel will be made after registration closes unless COVID-19 restrictions make it clear to cancel earlier.

Register Here: https://fh.az.gov/recreation

All games will be hosted at Golden Eagle Park on fields 2,3, and 4. Field 1 is off limits and there will be no warming up or batting practice allowed on that field. If you would like access to a field to warm up, we do have open access fields at Four Peaks Park, 14827 N Del Cambre Avenue, that you are welcome to utilize. These fields will be first come, first served. We ask that all teams be accommodating and willing to share space.

Feel free to call/text me with any questions.

Tried last year to get 40’s involved in Fountain Hills 3 tournaments. Never had any interest. Will try again this fall.

As of today (5-6-20) the city of Fountain Hills is planning to go forward with this tournament. They did explain, it still could be canceled based on social distancing requirements.

Registration is still open until 5:00 PM on Monday May 11th. Credit Cards will not be charged until the 14th if the tournament is a go.

If this tournament goes will you be following the ssusa new guidelines? I do not see this this tournament listed anywhere on the tournament schedule and I was wondering if you had enough teams to run this tournament and I was wondering if you could follow up on how the tournament went with the new guidelines (unless you are using your own city rules)

TD Tom, this is just a Rec. Tournament so was not on the schedule.
We are using the SSUSA virus guidelines that were sent out a few weeks ago.

Registrations end at 5:00 pm tomorrow. Last I checked there was 2 spots open 50 thru 60’s and 8 spots for 65 thru 75’s
Like Lokahi mentioned above, it’s a go!
