Dudley HotW 14” replacement bat
I just received my hot W 14 inch replacement bat from Dudley. The serial number starts with 250. Is there anyone out there who has swung the hot W 14 inch with a serial number that starts with 250. If so, can you provide me with some feedback? Thanks!

The first 6 digits are 250419. The bat comes from the most current shipment.

My first Hot W 26 ounce cracked in Mesquite with well under 75 swings. 70 plus degree weather. Serial number was 2212180830. Direct Sports replaced it with an Adidas Melee at my request. I also have a 25 ounce Hot W with serial number 1512180013 which I used in Vegas last month and has over 250 swings on it right now. Plan on using it with my 2 other game bats in Reno next week.

Just received my 14" replacement about 2 weeks ago. It also has a 250419 serial number. Only have 40-50 hits on it which is longer than the original one lasted. No signs of stress or paint chips, etc.. Hope it stays that way. Has pop and distance. A different sound that the original one. This one has more of a pong sound in the beginning. The sound has since changed. Hope to get some more cuts on it this weekend.

Got my 14", 27 oz replacement HOT W recently and was finally able to hit it for the first time yesterday. I don't have the serial number on me, but here's some observations from the day:

It is really heavy, the heaviest 27 oz I've ever swung. I haven't weighed it yet, but I won't be surprised to see it weigh in closer to 28 oz when I do weigh it.

So, on the third swing of BP, I heard a rattle. Yep, the inside of the bat has particles rattling around in it already. Unreal. I said screw it, and kept hitting with it.

By the twentieth swing the bat had a nice pop sound to it and was hitting absolute bombs. I put a total of only about 30 swings on it and there wasn't a mark on the bat. It looked like it hadn't touched a ball at all.

I'm going to see if I can put another 20-30 swings or so on it today and see if it makes it through the day. I am skeptical, as it is showing the classic signs of a bat that's on its last legs already, but you never know...

I really need to just put it in my bag and only swing it in games as one of my BP partners said already. The problem there is that I still have an original Dudley Lightning as my gamer and that bat is ridiculous, nothing will replace it until it's time is done - which I hope is a long time away, which means that I'll never get to swing this damn bat. I really wanted the HOT W to be my practice bat, but I know that I'm going to have to scrap that idea after today. It's simply too hot and will have go in my bag and collect dust, waiting to be used in a game...

These things truly are hot out of the wrapper and "pre-broken in". They are obviously designed to get right into game action and are tournament ready from swing one. I guess if you get a few hundred game swings out the bat before it caves in well, that's a season's worth of tournaments, as long as you don't waste swings on it in BP. If you look at it with that perspective I suppose it's not a bad investment.

I'll update you guys later and let you know how it went today and if the bat held up. I'll also try to remember to get the serial number.

I'm still awaiting mine. Sounds like the 250419 is from a new batch. I have been waiting for a while so hoping they can come in soon.

OK, got an update. So the serial number on my replacement HOT W is 2212181247, which leads me to believe that it was actually still part of the first batch. I wouldn't have minded this except...

I took 20 more swings with it today on a beautiful 81 degree sunny northeast afternoon and by the twentieth swing it had cracks all over the barrel. A big paint chip came off and the bat was rattling like a set of maracas. It had all sorts of pieces of material flying around inside. I didn't even get to 50 swings on this one before it was done. I think this might have actually been worse that the first one I had.

I will be on the phone with my Dudley rep in the morning. This is insane.

Guys it's not that hard to figure out. None of the serial #s matter they are all breaking regardless of the ser. #. Dudley doesn't have any new bats out yet I don't think they know what the problem is. They are going to keep sending out the same batch of replacements until they run out.

I received my replacement 14" after waiting 3 months. I now have 75 swings on it and everything so far looks fine and the bat seems to be opening up.

This topic seems like a great endorsement for Adidas.

i contacted Dudley again today asking for a date when the replacment bat will be shipped. They said it will ship very soon as the bats are now in. They also claim only a small percentaqe of the bats sold were returned. We shall see how I fare with the new one, but since I am 78 years old, one would expect that I shouldn't have been able to break the original one.The one they are sending me is from a new batch.

I just got my replacement serial # 2112180654. It's a 26 ounce 14" barrel Hot W.We shall see how it does. I am 78 so I was suprised to crack the original. I am 6'1" and weigh 235 so it might not have cracked with a smaller old guy. Who knows. The performance was great before the original cracked.
