Sept. 13, 2018 D.Litch Men's 50 15 posts | Runner hit by batted ball I went back a year on this board but couldn't find this one... Runner on third. Line drive down the third baseline. Runner tenses up and tries to lean slightly but is drilled by batted ball while he has both feet planted on the bag. The ball careens into shallow left field. Umpire calls it a foul ball strike because he said the runner was leaning toward the out of play direction... Help me out on this one... |

I have only ever had that happen once. I kind of felt bad about it, because it was on strike two. He is standing there cringing awaiting the next hit. Fortunately it was an outfield hit nowhere near him. |

Sept. 19, 2018 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | When my team forces me to play 1st or 3rd, I mean lets me play 1st or 3rd. I always ask the runner if the batter likes him or if the runner owes the batter money. That usually determines that likelihood that I am going to be trying to get out of the way of a batted ball. What was the question. |
