Looking for a team in SE MI or NW OH
LC fielder looking for a 50+ in SE Michigan or NW Ohio that plays in about a 75 mile radius of Toledo. I'll be 55 eligible next year.

jwags5, from your post, I believe that you are looking for league play. Go to Leagues above and look at Ohio and Michigan to see what is listed. Good luck. If you need anything else, I will try to help you.

Nancy, what do you know about the Can-Am Senior League in Oak Park, Mi? I can't find anything on the web about it and the info on this site appears outdated.

Sylvania, ohio has a couple of sr leagues and five or six travel teams which play around five tournaments per year.
They also host their own tournament...the original Great Lakes classic in July/august which draws 50+ teams.
Top notch organization , check it out.
No, i am not affiliated with sylvania just familiar with their organization.

I play in the Can_Am league and it is a very good league. It is a morning travel league (10:00 am) with teams from Windsor, Dearborn, Taylor, and 3 teams from Livonia. It is a 55+ league but each team may have one 54 year old. We usually play on Tues/Thurs, 9 inning games, but this year we played doubleheaders on Thurs. Season began in mid May and ended last week. Leagues on this site are not up to date. Sylvania has great fields!

Cz3ll4, I will do some checking tomorrow. I am not familiar with it but know some people that might be. I know the Indiana list is completely wrong and have submitted changes to the office. The problem with some of the league lists is that players submitted them, and no updating was ever done. I am working on Kentucky now and have lots of additions. I would like to go through all of the lists of the states that surround us. Hopefully I will have a better answer tomorrow. Thanks for giving me a place to start. It looks like Michigan will be my next project.

This was my 10th year of playing in the Can-Am league. We used to play at fields in Oak Park, Warren, Dearborn, Taylor, and Livonia. The Oak Park & Warren teams now play out of Livonia. As of last year our teams were Woodlawn Hit Club(Taylor), Detroit Stars(Livonia), Livonia Tigers, Bench Pub(Livonia)Triple Crown(Dearborn), and Windsor Chiefs. This is a very good league with many Hall of Fame & tournament players. Dearborn, Mi. hasn't had an over 50 league in 5 years and their over 40 is USSSA.

Ju25, thank you. Could you look under Leagues above at the information? It shows James Mathis as the contact for that league. Is that still correct? If so, is the phone number right? If not, do you have a league contact? I appreciate any assistance that you can give me.

"Stick" also plays in the Can-Am league. It is a great league but lots of travel to different fields each week, including a couple of trips over to Windsor Canada to play the Chiefs. Clarkston. MI Recreation is forming a second season draft league as we speak but I don't know if they will have enough sign ups to get it going. Both of these leagues play in the mornings @ 10 am so if you are still working you may not be able to make the games depending on your shift.

OZ40, I knew that he played up there. Maybe I need a road trip. Do you know if James Mathis still is the contact.

Nancy, James Mathis is not the contact and hasn't been for awhile. Not sure who the contact is now because it has changed over the years.

Ju25, thanks. So what is out there is wrong. I will try to research it, but if anyone knows the contact, I would appreciate any help.
