Bat / Ball and Association
Hello all, Im new to the board. Last time I play was in 2000. The balls and bats have made some changes over the years. I play in a league that uses 52/300 for every level of play ASA.

However, in seniors the league we can use bats stamped with 1.21, 1.20 or ASA but the ball is still 52/300. This is where I need help.

Am I better off using an ASA bat? Brett Helmer said over the weekend when Monsta (ASA) played SiS (USSSA) for 5 ganes using 52/300 balls. Players shoul use ASA bats for best performance.

What do the senior players think about 52/300 and 1.21 stamp. I understand most senior bats do not come with warranty and ASA bats should not hit 44/375 balls.

Thanks for your comments in advance.

Most of the senior players would not like it if we went to a 52/300 ball. However, if they ever did go to that ball you would definitely want to use one of the newer ASA only bats as Helmer said. If you watched any of those games between Monsta and SIS you saw very few HR's. I believe none of the 5 games saw a double digit score. And that is with guys like Harvey, Pearson and Purcell playing.

The senior bats still hit that ball pretty good but not like one of the Monsta, flipper/aftermath or the new Miken/Worth ASA only bats.

Thanks Phoenix26 for the comment. I watched all of the games Monsta vs. SiS.

I have several ASA bats from Monsta. I do not own any 1.21 bats. I've played in a few SSUSA games with 44/375. Love the Dudley lightning and the Big Cat bats. I never got the chance to hit any senior bats with 52/300 balls thats why I'm asking.

My league went to 52/300 for saftey reasons.

Carl from Monsta Athletics said he migh be getting back in senior softball bats. He has a new technology coming to market soon. Plus, I keep asking him to build me one. Thanks again for responding.
