Got your email regarding the upcoming Miken/Worth Demo Day/Homerun Derby. You guys in FL are so lucky. Our band of diehards went out yesterday morning and hit on the soggy ground at about 39 degrees. I hope you will at least post some of the event on YouTube with commentary.

OZ,
You diehards are to be admired. It was 83 degrees here this morning when I was out testing some new designs and quite warm. But....we got word a cold front was blowing in tonight and we should expect cool temperatures this weekend in the 60’s at night and mid seventies in the day. Time to get the hoodies out! I’ll do my best to get some coverage this Tuesday night. Maybe you should just charter a plane and fly right in....

60 and 70's on the March 4th? I'll take it. Actually I'll take it on April 4th, May 4th and June 4th!

Fabe, year round ball climate is a dream here in the north and that possibly explains the large amount of 'snowbirds' in FL. I've always had this notion that one of the reasons us northerners have some pretty good success on the tournament circuit is this: When the weather starts to break here we are essentially renewed for another season and just can't wait to get going again. When you have a climate friendly location for year round ball you're maybe more of the feeling that well there's always next week for ball, we up north don't have that luxury.

OZ, the other side of that coin is we don't give our old bodies a much-needed break from playing when we play year round. If I get 2-3 weeks off I can start to feel a little less sore, but then the abuse starts back up again.

Point taken. I'm just not sure there is another side of the coin. Guys up here do other things to stay in shape for ball over the winter. We're not just sitting around watching reruns of Gunsmoke. I for one play some hockey and volleyball, others basketball. Plus we get great cardio shoveling heavy wet snow, and upper body workouts clearing feet of snow that turns to ice that the street plows block up your driveway with. Pushing stuck cars is a great upper back, arm, and quads workout. Heck, some guys are dumb enough to break holes in the ice and fish!
