Rating question
I currently play 50 Major+. My question is could I play 40 Major's or would I have to play Major+. The team I played with last year was 40 Major but we finished second so this year they were moved up to Major+. This year I'm 50 playing on a 50's Major+ team but was curious if I could play 40' Major.

Thanks

Bart

ballplyer19 ... There are a lot of variables in your hypothetical situation ... Rather than confuse the matter here, please call the SSUSA Home Office at (916) 326.5303 during normal business hours (Pacific time) and talk with one of the eligibility specialists ... Be prepared to discuss the specific team(s) involved, and they should get you up to speed quickly on your options ... Good luck!

I believe you have 4 options. 50's Plus and 40's Plus. 50's Major and 40's Major but you are counted as a Plus chip on those teams. No more than 3 Plus chips on a Major teams roster at any one tournament.

So if I am 54 playing the last two years on a 50 Major Plus team and I get asked to play on a 40 Major team, am I considered one of the Plus chips on the 40's team or am I considered a 40's major player?

titanhd ... Yes, we believe all SSUSA originated end-of-year rating changes have been made, and that temporary changes for the T.O.C. have been restated to actual ... However, there are several potential team-originated changes hanging out there ... Those involve teams building rosters for the upcoming Spring World's and Spring National's that just "have to have" their fourth (or more) "out of rating" player(s) ... That's purely a team decision, and not ours! ...

Thanks Marcster13 that's what I thought even though im playing 50 major+ they still will rate me as a chip playing 40's. Was hoping we could play 40 major with a 50 major+ team as there sometimes is not enough 50 major+ teams to play in a tournament. So SSUSA does rate players to a certain degree thanks all for the info!!

ballplyer19 ... Nope, SSUSA does NOT rate players ... But we DO keep each player's historical data on the teams he play(ed) with and those team's ratings at the time you did so ... It would be an impossible task to subjectively rate each individual player, but not too difficult to track their team(s) rating histories ...
