Does it irk anyone else that the site either doesn't post results and scores for tournaments or they take forever. I'd like to see scores and brackets completed sometime soon after we play in a tournament. A lot of times once your team is eliminated you leave and don't know who won. (Yeah, I know, just win.) Can't be that hard, results for Vegas and Ft Myers still not up.

This has been a concern for many over the years Gerdy. Pretty soon the window for getting results posted might be closing since " we are involved with the TOC" will be announced.

Nope, it doesn't bother anyone. We are old and just happy to have a place to play and have no interest in any results. Especially big ones, like Worlds. Actually, scroll through the previous discussions and it is a huge topic among players, and a constant frustration. Someone will start the thread, numerous 'customers' will support the need for real time score tracking (or close to real time) and then someone will come on and say "why do you need to know scores?", or try to defend SSUSA for not putting out even close to timely results and the thread will eventually die off until the next person starts a whole new thread asking for the same thing. Oh, and at some point SSUSA will enter the fray explaining how busy they are putting together the next event and the scores will be coming. At that point the person who started the thread will explain that they are happy to have a place to play and understands how busy SSUSA is. Enjoy Gerdy. Also, this is not an anonymous post, I am Jim Perry, I play 55s out of Washington State and wear number 19. Happy Holidays to all.

As mentioned, this topic comes up over and over again. Recently, Dave mentioned there was a serious evaluation of Quickscores and that there might be something coming from those discussions. I believe there were things to work out (bracketing for 3rd guaranteed game, etc) before anything could come from it.

I am pushing the "I Believe" button on this and believe Senior Softball Management is trying to sort this out. There has been countless threads on the topic, so I know they know we (consumers of this great product) consider this an important topic.

Let's see what comes of it. Hopefully some announcement soon.

I am one of those who is often interested in scores, both to see how friends' teams did, or to size up the competition (I know how my team did). Maybe we can look forward to a Christmas gift labelled "Quickscores"?!

What I don't understand is, SSUSA can put up a survey, for questions about counts and want nots. But no one can post scores.

This is by far the largest senior softball organization in the country, but it's second best on technology to keep it's members informed.

ISSA does it so easily, they even post pictures of games and teams that place in the tournament, along with MVP.

Don't understand why this organization refuses to move into the 21st century.

I guess, I should stop asking why. I have yet to get a response on this issue that makes any sense. (maybe find a better I.T. staff)

gray, I think SSUSA has addressed this during the World Huntsman games. The glitch comes with the number of teams in each division. The current program like the Huntsman Games uses so far is unable to work for the larger number of teams.
ISSA has the "luxury" of having a tournament total of 173 teams (which is smaller than several different age groups in the Vegas Tourney) which will work with the current programming. The ISSA tourney in Palm Springs had 10 teams, you can report those scores from memory! Huntsman had over 350, but format was broken down into a lot smaller individual groups that were able to be programmed, thus able to report.
As was told to us earlier, they are trying to figure it out.
After reading this website for many years, same 3 bitches keep coming up: balls, ball/strike count, and results. Looks as though Sacramento took care of the balls, is working on the ball/strike count with current survey, and I'm sure they will figure out the results in the near future.

Yes curveball, from what has been mentioned previously, it's tough writing a program for large tournaments with huge brackets. But, it shouldn't be too hard to enter the scores like it's been done in the past. Yes, it will take time and if not already documented, some scores may have been lost, but the budget might not be enough to cover another employee or temps.

I am sure that Dave doesn't need anyone to stick up for him, he answers all inquiries (within reason) but the issue with results are twofold:
1) large brackets but mostly the fact that they are 3GG vs DE
2) His current system is proprietary, means that an office worker can't just open up excel and update the scores, they have to be done on HIS machine which seems to be in constant use in creating the next big tourney.

Like all I would love to see results in a timely fashion but have decided to allow everyone else to complain and assume that at some point this will get resolved, just like the ball and the count as curveball stated.

Happy Holidays to all and good luck in 2018!

mck71. So you're saying that the scores can only be updated on the brackets in their same system and only the same person can update? Seems way to over complicated. I'd settle for someone taking a picture of the brackets and results that every tournament have posted on a fence. Each tournament director take a picture with their smart phone, have their grandson show them how to send it to Sacramento, they post and boom done. I think a lot of it comes down to people running the tournament not sending in results. Results from some are never posted year after year.

I don't believe it's that difficult. It just takes someone who wants to do it.

Keep getting excuses, with no results on this matter.

Bottom line ISSA no matter what size tournament, they get it done.

Quit passing on the buck, just have an I.T. person look into this matter and allow access to the website by certain personal.

This is not rocket science.

At the end of the day it will only make this a much better organization.

I believe it's in the best interest of SSUSA to keep all informed and coming back to this web page.

I went back and forth on whether I wanted to get involved in this "discussion" any more but maybe I am just bored this afternoon so here goes:

Manny, I find it interesting that you bring up another assoc on this message board, sadly I assume it's because that assoc doesn't have one. Now I get it's because your complaint is with THIS assoc but I keep rereading "Keep getting excuses, with no results on this matter." Based on past experiences, I truly believe patience is a virtue and I have not always been a patient guy myself. That said, this year there is a new ball and they are TRYING to implement 1-1 count so thinking your statement is one where it might take a little more patience. I for one try and read the board most every day and saw Dave's explanation a few months back that they HAVE engaged QuickScores in a dialog to TRY and see if they can use that service so to me, that means they are at least trying, not giving me excuses.

And I also believe that some TD's do tend to be more forthright with scores (thx Tim) but not all are on board yet. I want to believe that this is changing as well. I am sure you are probably tired of hearing it but try and be a little more patient my friend.

Just my 2 cents.

Have a GREAT weekend all!

it's funny you should tell me to be patient. When they where handing it out I was last in line and they ran out when it was my turn. LMAO

I bring up another association so this one could learn from them, where there is a will there is a way.

I enjoy playing SSUSA, but the are not up to today's technology when it come to keeping us informed.

Scores and winners of tournament are important to all.

TM has tried to post scores in the past, but if SSUSA was to look at how others do it they may see how easy and efficient it can be.

Just wanting to better this board.

Wishing all a Merry Christmas and happy holiday's.

If scores can't be updated on site, can't the scores be sent by text to a person who is solely responsible for adding scores to brackets? At our site last September, we had four fields, with games ending roughly every 90 minutes. Even if you had 8 sites, that would mean 32 entries every 90 minutes. At worst, TD's could take pictures of the updated brackets at the end of the day and send them to SSUSA so they could post them.

So now I notice that the Phoenix tournament from November has scores and results posted but Ft Myers which was played a week earlier is still blank, also Vegas still blank. What gives?
