Rocky Mountain Fields
I want to thank everyone that helped put together the Rocky Mountain this past weekend. I am sure a lot of hard work and effort went into making it a successful weekend.
Scrap Iron was well represented and we appreciated everyone that traveled to the Denver area to participate.
My only disappointment was the fields. The infields were like concrete all weekend. Players were taking balls off their arms and legs. They tried watering them and the sprinklers just couldn't keep up. Last year wasn't any better.
Has anyone in SSUSA considered moving this tournament to Colorado Springs? They have a 6 field complex that are all turf, 300' fences and right next to the airport. I believe 6 fields can accommodate this size tournament.

i touched base w Kenny Reynolds who basically runs all the tourneys in Co Spgs including the turfed "SKYVIEW COMPLEX" and he said that the weekend of AUG 9,10,11,12th would be avail next year and with 6 TURF fields and access to more fields in other parts of town he's sure he could make it work, so if you are serious about pursuing this idea he has told me to pass along his number

My team and I had a bit different experience. Thought the facility and fields were superb and it was a very well run tournament by the SSUSA staff. While I never played outfield, never saw the wierd hops, but then only played or observed at the C complex. Having 12 fields, I know they even moved up some of the championship games to accommodate both teams. First time playing in Denver area, and hope that regardless of the fields, this area can be host to more SSUSA venues. The new neighborhood that one of the host hotels, Fairfield inn was at, had a ton of new dining and shopping...super place for a tourney. It was nice having so many soccer fields for bp at the Aurora Sports Complex and we liked the longer fences that kept defense at a premium.

Can anyone post winners from the various age groups and divisions from this weekend in Aurora?
