NEW ! Worth Wicked Senior bat
Guys and Girls,
A big announcement today that you can all take note of....Worth is re entering the Senior bat market with the new Wicked Senior bat! The bat is a ONE PIECE model which a lot of players prefer and it has a half ounce end load. I have hit it extensively and tested it for months and it's definitely a winner. As you know Miken and Worth are owned by the same company and sometimes share technology. The technology in this bat comes from multiple sources and it's a collaboration of some of the best engineers out there. The bat has a tremendous sweet spot and is highly durable as well. If you like one piece bats you will absolutely love this one. I will be posting you tube video around the first of next week so you can see one in action. I will also be sending copies of the video out via email so contact me if you wish to receive it. Worth is working on pricing now but I am told it should fall somewhere in the $199.95 - $219.95 range. The first batch will become available sometime in late September so get with me now if you would like to get on the list to get one of the first ones.

I had heard recently that you were gong to be Miken's new front man when it comes to all of their bat technology. I think that is a good move since you have been testing most of the bats that come down the highway. Since you did the testing can you tell us ahead of time is it going to be a long time for break in or will it be hot right out of the wrapper.

What is your opinion of "durable"?

Hail :
Not sure where you heard that. I do work closely with Miken/Worth but as of this date I do not work directly for them. I personally endorse and swing their products as I believe that overall they have the best their is for a variety of reasons. I do enjoy working with their engineering and design team as again, I feel they are the best in the business. As a self proclaimed bat (and gear geek) I very much enjoy trying out all kinds of new equipment and trying to give constructive advice to those I am working for.

As far as break in and durability you will find this bat right up there with any of the very best on the market right now. I will not tell you you will hit the ball 20 feet farther nor will I tell you that it will outlast all the other bats BUT: For some players it might.

In summary, the Wicked will be right there with the top 3 bats on the market in sweet spot, durability, and performance. It will really compare straight up with the other one piece bats out there right now. It swings really true to weight and I enjoyed itsnbalance points as I feel they are dead on for a 1/2 ounce end load bat. You can feel the end load but it's not over done. If you used the red/black Ultra II Maxload back in the day this is just for you with added durability and sweet spot. Anyone will enjoy the quick bat speed and forgiving nature of the design. It will be in 26-28 and 30 ounce models.

Sorry, one clarification. The 30 ounce model is not available just yet. In itially it will be the 26/27/28 ounce bats that are released....

Tri18 - For argument's sake, if the top 3 bats in terms of sweet spot, durability and performance are the Adidas Melee2, Dudley Lightning Legend and the Miken Freak PT, which one of those 3 models will be displaced by this new Worth Wicked Senior bat - in your opinion?

Those are the top 3 bats right now. Each of them have an argument in the mix to be where they are and now we have number 4.... So, my observation and extensive experience with all 4 of these suggest that any one of them could claim to be in the top 3. When you have bats this good I generally council prospective buyers that the one that feels/swings the best is the one most likely you will hit the best with. This leads me into an important part of my training camps academic profile in THE MENTAL APPROACH TO HITTING. The famous curriculum there is based on this profound quote:

HITTING IS 50% MENTAL
And
50% PHYSICAL
and the rest is MENTAL....

I do believe that through hours and hours of testing with everything imaginable that the Miken and Worth bats have a slight edge when you consider:

Swing weight/Balance points
Performance
Durability
Size of Sweet spot / forgiveness

Hope this helps you out.

Alan, I'm in on the new Worth. Let us know when they come in.

Question for you, was the Worth Legit half oz. End load or was it balanced. Not a big deal but we had a small debate on this. Im referring to the gray, blue which i believe was 2013 or 2014. Some say it was end loaded and i thought it was balanced. Great bat tho.

Question also on this bat, would you recommend going up an ounce like with the old 1 piece Mikens ?

Thanks for the help and advice.

TONY,
The Worth Legit was a balanced bat and did not have an end load. The new Wicked swings true to weight so I would recommend you getting the current weight you are comfortable with.
Thanks,

Alan

I am hearing from two reliable sources that a certain Hall of Famer's new signature Louisville bat coming out Sept 1st with it's new technology will be one of the top 3 senior bats.

Guess we will have to wait and see......

I appreciate all the info you provide and the things you do for senior softball. Be safe

Benji,
You tell Ronnie 😏That we will compare notes in Vegas. Look forward to seeing all of you guys in Vegas! By the way there is an actual video of the bat on you tube that I made this afternoon. The bats came in and I ran to the ballpark in between raindrops. You can go on you tube and put in Alan Tanner softball in the search box and look for the Worth Wicked XL video. This first bat I swung right out of the wrapper was even better than the prototypes....

Benji4, i caught part of a Sommerville game at Golden Eagle on Friday at the Reno tourney. WOW....great team, was fun to watch! I think your entire team was swinging Louisville bats. Im sure it wouldnt matter what senior bats you guys were swinging. Ill be surprised if it cracks top 5 tho.

Not that you guys need it, good luck in Vegas.

Any chance Miken/Worth will make any 25 oz bats? Some of our older guys have had success with last year's DeMarini 25.5 oz end loaded. They find they get better performance with more bats speed with the lighter bat.

HJ,
Mikens Patriot with the 12" barrel will come in a 25 ounce option. The Patriot has been redone and upgraded with Mikens new materials and technology. I will be putting more information out about this soon.

Good Morning. Alan just watched your video and was wondering what kind of balls you were using? Also if you swung the Sr. Jeff Hall does this bat compare to it? Thanks

When I do testing I use a combination of Worth, Trump, Tattoo and a few of the new AD Starr green/yellow practice balls. All the balls are 44/375. I keep about 3 or 4 X-Rock balls in the bag just for fun 😬Too. The Rock Softball's are certainly fun to hit but not a good ball to do any type of real testing with unless you are just trying to see the longest ball you can hit.
Comparing the Wicked to a Jeff Hall senior bat? Kind of like comparing a good aluminum bat to composite....you get the idea!

Latest news is the first batch has shipped and will arrive here to me tomorrow. Also, myself and Mike Macenko will be in Las Vegas in the Miken/Worth tent with some of the new Worth Wickeds and the Miken line. I think Mike will be at Big League Field of Dreams starting Thursday through Saturday. I will be there from this coming Sunday through Friday. Mike will then be at other parks so stay in touch with us depending on where you are playing. If you have any questions beforehand about the bat you can reach me at 561-718-7504.

My Senior Wicked arrived yesterday. Put 35 swings with it. It has a great swing and pop. It's everything Alan said it is and Worth has good senior bat. Durability is the question now.

I have around 200 swings on 2 28oz Wicked senior bats. It hits great line drives new and started opening up with the long balls at at 175 swings. A player on another site said he had 500 swings on his Wicked. Don't know what kind of balls. I used old fire balls and 375/44 core tattoo balls Today I'll see how it compares with the Big Cat and the Maxload Mikens. They have 400 to 500 swings on them.

I DON'T GET IT!!!

I have watched your video's on several different bats.
Each time I see you swinging different model bats and getting approximately the same distances or results.

Same Batter + Different Bat = Little or no change in distance/results

How can I see any real difference in the performance of the various bats?

Lefty, thanks for the report.
Looking at online videos looked like this bat out of wrapping would just launch balls out of the park without any effort.
Your report sounds very real (for a legal bat).

For me a well broken in Big Cat is the most awesome bat.

Please DO report what you think after comparing the Wiked and Big Cat.

Crusher took the Big Cat,Maxload and the 2 Worth Wicked witch had half the swings as the other. The bats aren't well broke in, Both Wicked with 240 swings kept up with the Mikens 500 swings. That said I am not the Crusher. Will be 69 in Dec. Hitting against a cross wind 325ft. distance and great line drives with all the bats. I'm not going to hit BP with the Wicked bats anymore. Waiting for durability from someone else. I used Alan Tanners 375/44core balls,

I thought these were supposed to be made in the USA(a selling point for me), just received mine and it says made in China on the wrapper! Bat feels really good, but I would have never purchased if I knew it was made in China.

Put 45 swings on my new Wicked today in 3 groupings of 15. I am a 70AAA line drive hitter and usually hit the ball pretty hard, with a track shot once in a while. I will say my 1st grouping was disappointing-felt strange. Will say the next 2 groupings of 15 got better. I think hot out of the wrapper is a stretch for older guys. The Stotes seemed to jump off the bat better than the Rocks or Badens. Going to go with it in Ft. Meyers. My goal is to get at least 300+ hits on it before then. Will see what happens.

Since I posted above, I will update. My Wicked now has 230 hits on it. It out performed my melee and U2 today. I have gone from skeptical to optimistic that this will be my bat for 2018.

big cat-your Hrs and fence hits ain't nothing.

I hit 17 line drives in a row with extraordinary velocity. Only split 7 balls in half!!!!!

I believe the bat has 3 gears. When you hit the 3rd gear, you will know it. It 's like driving a 70 Chevelle Super Sport. If you get to that 4th gear you know you better slow down before Johnny Law gets you!

Update on the 2 28oz Wicked bats. Using 375 44 core ball's . Starting to web a little. I have 280 bp swings and now hits as well to me as any bat I have. Which is all the top ones. I guess one has to remember I'll be 69 in Dec. Once I get my cataract surgery this winter to see the ball better I should hit for avg.and see better in the outfield. Time to stop BPing with the Wicked until I hear more about the durability.

Alan,
Thanks for getting the bat to me... Before buying one, I did swing a 27, then a 26... The 27oz responded remarkably solid and the 26oz too light.... fuh·ged·da·boud·it! LOL!!

Hit the 28oz, Yesrtfay with Cary, the 1st batted ball was a line drive to LF 290' and got performing surprisingly good after about 50+ hits with others helping out... On my second round, the batted balls were making a much greater distance with a big pop, last batted ball(ISA X-Rock) was at 375'... Wow!!!! In my book, with about 150 hits. it's right up there with the broken in 2.0 EL's and the Melee2 12" No webbing so far....

Just got Worth Wicked bat. Supposed to have been made in the USA. Tag on wrapper says -Made in China. ju25 posted same information on Oct. 2. Since it is a one-piece bat, where is it actually made? Tri18-Do you have the answer?
