trump rocks
Our league just decided to use trump rocks this year and i would like to know which 44/375 ball is used in tournaments. I know its a great ball but is it the ASA ball or is there a different 44/375 rock.

Cat, LVSSA/SSUSA Spring Worlds and the Masters Championship uses the X-ROCK-ISA-Y ball. We used the ASA Rock in Bullhead City this past week, I thought it was a good ball that held up well. (it wasn't overly hot, 70's, so no way to tell if it would be heat affected)

curveball ... The Trump Rocks are used only in Las Vegas events jointly promoted by LVSSA/SSUSA ... Those would be the Southwest Championships and World Masters Championships, but not the upcoming Spring World's in Mesquite/St. George ... Otherwise, your info is accurate ... Thanks!

They are a great ball, miles better then the stote crap ball we're forced to use in most SSUSA tournaments. Enjoy it, it will be fun.

Slip if the tongue Staff, or slip of the typing fingers! I know that, I work at both of them. Had the upcoming Springs on my mind I guess. Thanks for correcting.....

norgenorth: Disagree the Trump Ball used in Vegas is not a pitcher ball. Too light and the old 44/375
can be thrown with much more accuracy and better curves and knuckle balls.

norgenorth, disagree with you. I just put my new in the wrapper Rocks and Stotes on the postal scale, all the Stotes were lighter than all the Rocks. I had 12 Rocks at 6.4-6.55oz. 8 Stotes were 6.25-6.35oz. As a pitcher, I find no difference in accuracy, curve and screwball are the same, and I don't throw a knuckleball so can't comment. I would guess the lighter ball would be better for the knuckle, assuming the seams are the same height.

Tatooball would the one to jump in here. I believe that ISA approved balls are lighter, thus caused less damage to bats. I don't know about movement.

You are talking about 2 different cover materials and different core designs here. X rock is a great ball, you want the ones that have the MCT logo on them, those are the best ones.
