| Feb. 20, 2017 Capt Kirk 541 posts | Additional Stats to Track-SF Giants (K Tomlinson) Add a couple more columns to your stats spread sheet for pinch hitting: Tomlinson’s seven pinch-hits were tied for second on the team after Gillaspie’s 11. He was 7-for-17 as a pinch hitter, adding three walks. Tomlinson’s simple swing and up-the-middle approach have proven perfect for important spots. He’s a .315 career hitter with runners in scoring position, a .373 hitter in situations baseball-reference deems “late and close,” and a .367 hitter in “high leverage” spots.
