TCB or simliar ball
At a previous tournament I saw a team using the total control ball or a similar ball for BP before a game. Fields were not available and space was limited so it seemed to be a great warm up tool. Curious if anyone has used this or a similar product and whether they thought it was worth it as they are somewhat pricey. Did you find it effective? How about the longevity of the product. Or is it just a gimmick. Thanks for your input.

We use them before every game
I have had mine all season.
They still seem to be in good shape
I bought them on Amazon
The only bad thing is that you can't really practice going backside (and they make your bag heavy to carry around..lol)
You have to take a full swing to get anything out of them.
Its a great way to warm up in a small area and doesn't take much time since the balls stay close.
As always, just my opinion.

love 'em, worth the money. teaches you to hit center of the ball, also helps build forearm strength. I like the team camaraderie when we hit them, ribbing and fun :)

I was on Coop's 55m team this past year and I also have one TCB. I bought it after seeing the young guys hitting between fields before a game. I thought it was a great idea. However, I've changed my mind. Imo it is great way to loosen up before a game but does little to help timing or, as coop said, going backside. For the ball to travel any appreciable distance you must swing at close to 100%. So, when I warm up with that team I take two or three swings with the TCB and then take 15 or 20 swings playing pepper.

These balls are meant to be training balls for "practice",
not before games. I understand that a lot of teams are doing this due to space limitations, but it is not what the manufacturer has in mind. They are very durable and long lasting, which balances out the cost factor.
