Baden Fire softball 2SB550YS Junk in its core!
Baden Fire softball 2SB550YS SPA is using in some of there tournaments
Guy's if you have been unfortunate and have played in a SPA tournament that has used the Baden Fire softball 2SB550YS then you should ask for your tournament fee back. This ball is the worst ball you can put your $200.00 Plus bat on. The sound of the ball hitting the bat is as dead as the pop that comes off the ball. It doesn't matter if your a single hitter or a long ball hitter the ball just has no distance. SPA is pushing this ball this season to be used in all of its tournaments so before you sign up to play ask the tournament director what ball they will be using and if it is the Baden Fire softball 2SB550YS save your $475.00 and play in another Senior Softball Associations tournament.

Last year SPA used a good ball in there tournaments the Baden "Fire" Softball (1SPA312Y-02) Red/Blue stich. . Why our they working with Baden on Baden Fire softball 2SB550YS Made in China and pushing it in tournaments must be $$$$.

Like everything else in "all" Senior Associations, everything is done for the almighty $$$$$$$$$. When something doesn't go right, negative Umpire/Tournament setings or bad equipment/balls are brought to this venue, the "powers to be" simply ignore and wait for it to quietly disappear off the 1st page. Look at some of the problems brought up within the past few weeks with Umpires, Texas Tournament Officials, etc. and not once has a "power to be" come forth to at least address the situation/problem.

Sparky ... There are four things that come to mind initially on this ...

• The Message Board is pretty much an unregulated and anonymous outlet for (occasionally responsible) comments ... Because of that nature, we ignore just about anything here that is issue oriented ... That's why we have email and snail-mail addresses for those who wish to provide meaningful commentary that may warrant a response;
• The two related frequent topics of "which ball?" and "which bat?" are amusing and will never have any consensus anywhere ... Especially here;
• Specific M/B commentary regarding individuals and recent events (e.g., Texas) is always handled by direct correspondence between our office and the tournament director(s) involved ... The results of that dialog will not be published here; and
• We always have a little smile whenever a "hot and bothered" topic finds its way onto "Page Two Oblivion" ...

Staff I have to disagree with your "that's why we have email and snail mail addresses". It took 3 email to a certain person (over a 30 day period) in the sac office and the only time I received a reply back is when I copied Terry & Fran.
But I do understand your reasoning for certain issues on this board as they are not the forum for some items.

We just played with this year ball the Black Stitch Baden ball. WE had no problem hitting HRs or hitting for base hits. The Black STITCH Baden is the ball that will be in Dalton. If you had trouble with a ball may have been the leftover from last year, need to check things out before you runoff at the mouth and not post who you are.

Have played 3 SPA tournaments this year and the Baden balls we've hit were all superior to the Trump.

I got a dozen new ones in Pensacola just to see if it had 300ft distance. MyTiming was still off in Pensacola so I couldn't tell if the ball was alright. Took the baden fire balls for bp and it hit just as well as the red and blue seams of 3 years ago. I like the ball.

We have 12 team league in Columbus, Ohio and we had a meeting yesterday on the Baden Fire Softball (2SB550YS) SPA is using and the rep sold the league. The league voted to send the unused balls back to SPA exchange them for the ball we used last 3 years the Baden "Fire" Softball (1SPA312Y-02) and the ball SPA used in its tournaments. That's a lot of people Ward running off the mouth.plus a couple on the impact list from SPA.

Don, I thought you were the Don Ward I played ball with when I was back working in GM. That Don Ward thought his opinion was the only one that matter too. I know your on the broad of SPA and they are pushing the ball Baden Fire ball 2SB550YS, but we in the COSSA 60 league (12 Teams)voted to return the ball and play with the Baden "Fire" Softball (1SPA312Y-02) Red/Blue stich. Sorry if we hurt SPA feeling because we chose to use the ball SPA has used the last 2 or 3 years. But in our opinion the Baden Fire ball 2SB550YS is not the quality we want to play with and that I wanted to share with other players & teams our opinion for them to decide. If you want to call me you can get my phone # the same way you got my name through SPA or my cousin Larry Milliron who you know from working with you on the SPA Broad. I am not trying to be anonymous on this issue I have talked to Ridge on the phone, Larry on the Executive Committee from SPA Baden, Rusty Trudeau National Account Manager and Baden Brent Weidenbach Senior Product Line and Quality Assurance Manager. I have told them the Quality is not up to par with the 1SPA312Y-02 in our opinion not yours.
