Mechanix original work gloves are better than batting gloves. They have a better grip and last way longer. You can even get them in different colors from their website. Most of the hardware stores just carry them in black.

I use the overlap grip with my ring finger of my bottom hand around knob. When I used regular batting gloves the palm would always get holes very quickly.

Oroblec: I bought the three pack of "FG" work gloves for under $12. Three different colors. At the time they were on sale along those shelves they have set up with special priced items. As rh25 mentioned, Mechanix can also be found for a reasonable cost.

rh25 is correct. Mechanix make a lot of different versions and their least expensive ones are thinner and work great as batting gloves. Been using them for years.

Nitrile work gloves $5 per pair. Water resistant, I never need grip or pine tar. May not look as cool, but then again cool went out in my 30ies. Now it is about performance and price.

I started using MG golf gloves, they fit and feel good. You know U are wearing gloves while getting a complete feel of the bat. I am on their e-mail list so get these bargains on gloves like for $5.50 each plus flat shipping of less than $4 for as many gloves as you want.

I used to buy the Rawlings batting gloves with the heel pads... they only lasted so long until the pad came apart.
For the past few years I've used either UA off the rack gloves (Big 5, Sports Auth, Sports Chalet, etc.) or have ordered Boombah gloves.
Neither have the heel pads and both last longer... go figure.
I've bought $30 gloves and they didn't last any longer than the $15 pairs... nor did they 'perform' any better.
I use the same gloves in bp as in games... when they wear out I get more.
I like the Boombah gloves slightly better.

I want to stress my practice gloves are different from my game gloves only in the fact, I use a new pair for games. BlueHawk Nitrile, only trouble is finding them in extra large.

I agree with nitrile work gloves, especially for cooler games/bp sessions. I have to put up with the usual remarks, ("you working in the garden after the game?") but that's ok.

You guys have hit on a tough subject sometimes. I hit hundreds of balls every week and was going through a pair of gloves about every 3 weeks so I looked to find something more durable. "Work" style gloves didn't feel good at all to me as they are too thick and I couldn't get used to the feel of the bat so.....I sourced my own for Team 1 Sports. My gloves fit well , are true to size, and are extremely durable. I can now get multiple thousands of swings on a great pair of gloves and can wear the same thing in games or Bp. If you guys have questions about them feel free to get in touch with me.

If you can find some made of goat skin, you will be forever satisfied. Might have to look for some made in Mexico, though.
