Which Batch Is It?

A few weeks ago I pre-ordered the new Adidas Melee Senior Softball bat. I was told that this would be the "All IMPORTANT" First batch bat that was to be delivered late last month. At this time I have not even received an e-mail of the delivery date, because the bats are supposedly being detained by US Customs. OK, so I understand that.

BUT WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS THERE ARE GUYS THAT HAVE HAD THESE BATS (And even made videos) FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. IF THEY ARE THE "ALL IMPORTANT" FIRST BATCH BATS...

THEN WHAT BATCH IS BEING DETAINED?

2nd Batch?

3rd Batch?

I would think twice before ordering from suncoast. There site say will ship by march 31 and no bat. Left messages for them to contact me and no response. Tried calling them and the phone mailbox is full. But they sure took my money from paypal. If the bat is delayed let me know but no response is shady dealing in this world

But with all the great equipment out there, why wait or pre pay for anything?

More than likely the few bats already in use were mailed separately for use to generate "the buzz" so they clear customs faster than a huge shipment that probably goes to a warehouse to await inspection.

However, there is no excuse for a legitimate business not to return calls from customers in a timely fashion. When this happens it puts forth the image that all is not right with the business. A customer phone call or email is done with an expectation of personal contact, a blanket statement on a message board does not meet that goal.

Worth the wait? unless this bat never cracks, or maybe there moving the fences back? please tell me why its worth the wait? Plus with the Adidas name and reputation and not there first customs shipment some find it hard that there's a customs issue. With that said no return calls, voicemail full indicates deception.

Sorry about the abusive language on the last post. I just got out of hand. Won't happen again. I will try one of the other bats. I guess I just had my mind set on the Adidas. I will wait... Maybe try the Nightmare. Heard some good things about that one. What about the TPS?

The bats will be shipping out this Friday. The bats were originally supposed to be here March 15th and were getting them on Friday. Nothing but 1 problem after another in getting these bats here. Nothing that Suncoast or the reps have any control in. Adidas has written an email to SSUSA stating that this was there fault and that Suncoast was not at fault here. There was some issues with logistics that Adidas couldnt correct to meet the timeframes that they told Suncoast. Weve been thru 3 New Bat launches with Reebok, Dudley & now Adidas and have had delays with every launch.

Most of the bats are being bought thru a rep, and they will have the bats by next week. We have not been in contact with those customers because we dont know who you are. We have talked to a lot of our reps customers and explain the bats have been delayed, but we couldnt get a hold of everyone. Weve sent out 3 emails to the reps & 2 to customers that bought on-line.

The First Batch and Second Batch comment is all the same batch. We ordered 5k bats and they will all be here by May. The factory is continuously making the bats, with one delay when we asked the Factory to check the decal on the bat. It was giving a straight line that looked like a crack but was the decal that came together. There is no spider webbing, and if you clean the barrel off it looks like it has been barely hit.

The bats have been shipped in multiple shipments. The reason we did pre-orders was the only way to guarantee that you would get a bat in this 2nd shipment. We are pretty much sold out. We've told some reps & teams that they will have to get them in the next shipment on April 20th.

Every one we have talked to is eagerly waiting on the bats and we want to get them to you. There is def a supply -vs- demand issue going on here. If you liked the Melee youre going to love the Melee 2. The performance of this bat is crazy. Once you see the bat perform you'll understand, the added Taylormade Golf technology - makes the bat swing smoother & faster. It is a Senior Bat and is built in the same tradition of the melee - performance with added durability. Def not saying this bat will last forever.

Good luck on the fields, hope this helps. To all the people that have ordered bats from a rep understand we were going by what we were told.

Thanks Again,

This problem with Adidas delivery would not be a big deal if money wasn't taken up front for pre-orders. I was able to order the bat for several individuals with no payment until delivery from an Arizona rep. Also, no delivery charge, a fiat $200.

I may end up with a Melee2, but because of this whole issue, I will be looking hard elsewhere also.
Luckily, I didn't send any $ to anyone.
Maybe check out the new combat.
The Miken 2 piece and the Nightmare are good bats but don't seem to fit my swing. Im sure they are right for others though.

I am still WAITING for an answer to my question....

IF THE BATS THAT HAVE BEEN SENT OUT WEEKS AGO ARE THE FIRST BATCH BATS, THEN WHAT BAT BATCH NUMBER IS SUNCOAST ABOUT TO SEND OUT?

From what I am taking from this conversation is the original batch was 5000 bats. I understand your question. If the bats that have sent out to a handful of people are from the first run which they are saying is 5000 bats then I would think the bats are from the original batch of 5000. So it should be from the first batch of bats.

If the bat is as good as advertised I don't mind waiting even though I prepaid. If the bat is a dud that changes everything.

Thanks:

If I don't get a e-mail of delivery from Suncoast tomorrow then I will be interested in cancelling my order and use the money to buy a Miken....

I'm starting to think I should have done that in the first place...

No Customs problems when buying American products!

So is this part of the first 5000 produced? Also how much is the weight of the end loaded bats? Thanks in advance. I like a heavy end load.

HR, if you're looking for a heavy end load the Adidas isn't the bat for you. Try either the Miken Big Cat (1 full oz) or the Combat Rocket Launcher (1 1/2 oz). I'm guessing that the Adidas end load is in the neighborhood of 1/2 oz (operative word being 'guessing').
I do not have an Adidas bat but I do have several Reeboks (end load). I compared them to the Big Cat and the Combat RL using the table top test. The Reebok was the least end loaded and the RL was/is the most.
Those who have the Adidas bat have been saying that it swings a bit lighter than the Reebok.
I'd consider dropping 1 oz in weight unless you've already used a Big Cat or an RL (if you do buy one of them).

Another heavy end loaded bat (and durable) is the Nightmare!

I'll second that Bruce! The Nightmare has a great endloaded feel, smashes the ball and has exceptional durability. The biggest issue I've seen is that guys aren't willing to put the time in to get used to the feel and swing weight of the bat and they put it down before it's broken in. Give the bat a chance and it will reward you! Can't wait to swing the most recent version of the bat as I understand the break in time is down and the performance is up!

Another great thing about the Nightmare is their customer service. You can't beat it and Kevin will take care of any issue with the bat.
