Can you use a 2015 USSSA bat?
Was wondering if you can use any of the new 2015 Utrip bats in SSUSA sanctioned tournaments?..... I saw on this site that some Utrip bats were listed - was wondering if all bats rated under 1.20 are allowed. Any feedback would be appreciated.

no matter what the date, every bat in all other sactions are not better out of the wrapper than a senior bat.. SSUSA knows this and doesn't mind you using a ASA Utrip or NSA bat... However if you use a modified version of those bats and someone finds out about it.. the person using it and his coach will be suspended for that year. I wouldn't even bother swinging anything else unless it's below 60 degrees!

hey swing...not tryin to start an argument with you because that is not my style. Just saying that there "might" be a few bats out there that hit the 375 core a "little" better than the thin walled senior bats in the hot and humid weather. And I am not talking about "modified" bats either. There are some bats outside of the senior bats that hit those 44/375's better in the humidity than a super thin walled bat.

Bballer3, I know what you are talking about, for me, I still get that trampoline on the mush balls with the senior bats in heat.. I don't cut the ball much, so I'm sure that's why I tend to get more out of what that bat has to offer than the next guy.. I used to go heavy before senior bats in those situations and I definitely got more exit speed!

Swing...you are right if you are that type of hitter. I used to try to do the same thing with the heavy bats although my bat speed suffered. Thats what I was kind of alluding to in my above post. There are a couple of non senior bats that definitely hit it better in the humid wet air. Other than that, the senior bats are better out of the wrapper than any other association.

Joel, ASA flipper aftermath with an ounce shaved out of it might be as good as an ultra II.

There isn't a STOCK ASA or USSSA bat that is as hot/good as any senior bat.

I'll stick with the Louisville Hyper Z it's far better than any Demarini.

we have to hit the sock's in our young league & the 2013 flipper hit's the best ,I was taking batting practice with it 3yr's ago getting ready for vegas,I was hitting the sock much better with it,but was hitting the harder ball's as far over the fence as with my ultra 2's and I have at least one black ultra 2 that has ever been made asa stamps the one's with no stamp's to the one's with the ssusa stamp's on it.I even have a couple with the recessed knob's,most people don't kno what that bat is,have to be a true miken man to kno!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

neck 10 if the bat was manufactured after 2014 it must have ssusa stamp on it.neck also you don't need to do anything to the 2013 flipper it hit's great off the shelf.I think it will hit with an ultra 2 but wont last hitting thos senior ball's

A well broken in USSSA bat can be every much as good as a Senior bat. They are not hot out of the wrapper and take a lot longer to get to the "broken in" point but every much as good.I understand the thought process. "Why would you spend the time to break a bat in when you can get one "hot" out of the wrapper". But to say that there is no non senior bat as hot may be an overstatement (and I'm talking stock bat). I woulld agree that no other bats are as hot or hotter than a Senior bat out of the wrapper.

neck10 are you referring to the Ultra II with the metal knob on the end. I wish mike would bring those bats back.
Absolutely LOVED that bat.

I have a Miken DC-41 that I used often and it is not a senior bat, I just love that bat. I do have a Dudley Lightening too. I use both. I start with the DC-41 and when the outfielders move up, I break out the Dudley and pound it over their heads.

Speaking of the Hyper-Z, it's the best deal on a senior presently!!

Neck10 we hit mush balls and the bat performed pretty good. Obviously not like hitting the Rock ball or Tattoo balls but it still worked better than any other bat we hit.

The entire Sommerville team cracked only 3 bats last season with most guys having 400 plus hits on the bat. The durability and performance makes it well worth the money.

Plus the rough finish on the barrel makes you hit a lot more knuckle balls and you don't need to keep cleaning it like a Dudley.
