Question for SSUSA or any one who might know.
I last played 55 Major Plus in 2012 and 50 Major in 2013, i have not played a tournament in any association since Oct. 2013. Can I play 55 AAA in 2016 or 60 AAA in 2016.

rick#8 ... Your rating experience history has a two-year "shelf life" ... If you DO NOT play, that two-year period is stopped/suspended until you resume playing ... Since you LAST played in SSUSA in the 2013 Season, and did NOT play in 2014 or 2015, you have ONE year remaining on your 55-Major+ history (from 2012), and TWO years remaining on your 50-Major history (from 2013) ...

Accordingly, you are not eligible for either of the age/division combinations you mentioned ... It is somewhat of a common misconception that a player can just sit it out until his history lapses, but that is incorrect ... If you would like a further explanation, please call the SSUSA Home Office next week at (916) 326.5303 during normal business hours in the Pacific Time Zone and ask for George or Tiffany ... Thanks

The way I am reading this , it seems like a 3 year shelf life and not a 2 year, what am I missing? If I last played 55 in 2012, that is 3 years not 2, and will be 4 years in 2016.

rick#8 ... Here's what you missed: Please don't confuse "calendar years" with "player years" ... When you stopped playing, the player history time line also stopped ... We do NOT allow a player to just "sit it out" until their two year player history lapses ... You played in ONE year (2013) after having played 55-Major+ in 2012, so that means you have ONE year left on that history ... You have not played AT ALL since you played 50-Major in 2013, so you have TWO years left on that one ... When/if you resume playing is when the shelf life will start again, but not before ... Again: When you stop playing, we stop running the clock ... When you resume playing, we start the clock back ticking ...

If there are extenuating circumstances you would like us to consider, AND you can document them satisfactorily, please contact George or Tiffany as mentioned above ... But absent anything for us to consider, your current player history status gives you the options we also mentioned above ... Those currently do not include 55-AAA or 60-AAA ...

Not so fast, Tim! ... This is going to be hilarious! ... You would be right, UNLESS, of course, there is something else you are also ill-informed about, which IS pushing your 2% number downward ... slap hitter was on the Rated Athletics roster for TWO events in 2013, the Western National's and the World Masters ... Both of those events ran AFTER they were rated to Major+ ... The team withdrew from the Western's very late, did not play and forfeited their entry fee ... As Major+, they did not have to qualify for Las Vegas, so they went to the World's, where slap hitter DID play ...

Here's what you apparently don't know (or forgot): If ANY player, regardless of age group or rating plays in ONLY ONE event at the higher skill rating during the two-year period, we DO NOT automatically lock in his player history at that higher level ... In short, EVERY player gets one "freebie", and the 2013 World Masters was slap hitter's ... For purposes of roster eligibility for the World Masters 2015, slap's addition to Cornerstone was legal and allowable ... ** END OF STORY **

Now might be a good time for you to retract your inferential accusations about the Cornerstone, stop this thread hijacking, and maybe even congratulate the Champions for their accomplishments ... I know you'll have to have the final word, but those three little items should be included therein ...
