Nov. 10, 2015 Tri18 352 posts | New Mizuno Erupt Turf/Cleats Hi guys, A lot of discussion back and forth of cleats this season since Tanel is not out there right now. Mizuno had contacted me about their new Erupt 3 turf cleats so I brought some in to evaluate them. The first thing I liked is they come in both a low and 3/4 style. When I tried them on the were true to size and immediately felt both supportive and very "cushy" , almost like a good running shoe. But what I really like is what I think is the versatility of the shoe. If you look at the cleat pattern it consists of a majority of knobby turf cleats but also has a slightly larger 9 cleat pattern interspersed among the turf cleats. The turf cleats themselves are also slightly longer than most turf cleats out there so....what I feel we get is a very comfortable shoe that can be worn in the infield or outfield. Another bonus....water resistance on the outsole. So.....I took some to the SSUSA Winter Worlds this weekend to let players try them out and got a fully satisfied rating from the players that purchased them. One player told me he went to bp early in the morning when the grass was soaking wet from Saturdays evening downpours and his foot stayed dry throughout that. Right now they are only available in black/white but I think they are a nice quality shoe for us players to consider. If you have questions about them contact me at your convenience. Nov. 10, 2015 STL0 Men's 60 231 posts | Thanks for the info Alan. Do they feel more solidly built than the Boombah turf shoes in your opinion? I like the Boombahs but they fall apart quickly on me typically. I have been looking for something as comfortable as those that have some durability. |
Nov. 10, 2015 Tri18 352 posts | STL0, Without a doubt a better built shoe. I have tested several Boombah models and while some of them were light on the feet their durability was never good. I have had numerous players echo that to me as well. This shoe is well made and the cushioning is excellent. I think it will turn out to be very durable as well which is why I have decided to bring them on . AT18 Tricoach18@att.net |
Nov. 10, 2015 Steinbrenner Men's 60 75 posts | How about the fit for wider feet? |
Nov. 10, 2015 Tri18 352 posts | I have pretty much a standard D foot and they fit fine. I think an E foot may be ok too but anything wider than that may be too wide. As of now there are no special extra wide widths.... AT18 Team 1 Sports |
May 12, 2016 nofencetoofar Men's 70 8 posts | How much do these shoes weigh? |
May 20, 2016 Tri18 352 posts | Fence, They don't list that info so I grabbed a pair of 10.5 in the 3/4 model and they weighed 1 pound 8 ounces which is fairly light for such a well cushioned and supportive shoe. The low top version will be even lighter. Every player I have supplied them to has really liked them. Again, they only come in a standard D width so if you have a really wide foot I would suggest New Balance. If you need help or questions call me anytime. Alan Tanner 561-718-7504 |
