Can anyone from SSUSA answer why the 40s are so late this year? Oct 23-25 with no other divisions around?
Anticipated (and apparently actual, based on entries to date) growth of the entire World Masters Championships teams made it impossible to have all teams in three Sessions with the available fields and times ... The decision was made to give the 40-Masters Men their own Session #4 after the other three concluded ...
Why 3 weeks later? I live in the NW and decided to bring my wife and daughter this year to enjoy some sunny Vegas weather before we get our typical rainy season. I looked up the ave. Vegas temps in Oct. and saw that it was 85. Perfect, (so I thought). Come to find out that Oct. is known for rapid decrease in temp. as the month goes on. The temps. are usually in the low 70's by the end of the month. I bought 2 extra plane tickets, booked a nice hotel only to find out last week that the pool closes Oct. 16th for the season. I purchased non-refundable rooms, cause I new I was going and that was the best rate. Pretty disappointed to say the least. Also being in the NW are last available Tourny to play in is next weekend. We will have to go about 6 weeks without playing together before we go to Vegas. I know we're grown men and we'll be fine, but my wife's unhappy and that sucks for me.
Se11out ... The "why" is because that's when the best combination of field availability in Las Vegas was present consistent with the reason we mentioned above about tournament growth ... As to your subsequent observations, there's not much we can say ... The Tournament dates for the Men's 40-Masters were published in the 2015 Tournament Guide mailed to all registered players in early January and were disclosed online here in December, 2014, about nine months ago ... Those disclosure dates should have been enough lead-time to make appropriate decisions on attending ...
So your complaining about temps in the low 70's?!?
Se11out is kinda a Whiner!!! Lol
