miken black senior bat- balanced vs endload alan -mike or other
Has anyone hit the balanced? How does the balanced compare to endload?
Does this bat really out perform the origanal ultra 2 not considering endurance?

Tri 18, I guess my biggest question would be how to properly determine which end load I would like. 1/2 or 1 ounce. I currently swing the miken ultra II maxload two piece.

It you are currently swinging the Ultra II Maxload (white barrel with red/grey logos) it has the 1/2 oz endload so you will likely want Ultra II Black Maxload (black barrel with green logos on it) as it will have the same 1/2 oz endload that your current bat has...

The one ounce endload will have the same swing as the Ultra II Big Cat that is currently out.

Hope this helps...

Alan, you say the handle and knob are diifferent, how so? I looked at one on line and close up and could see no real difference.
I use a overlap grip with a knob cuff, will this effect how it feels to a ultra 2 or others for that matter? thanks Bob

Alan found out through my friend that you are right about the Big Cat being the 1oz. Sorry

Just a heads up for those who are considering placing an advance order for the new Miken Ultra 2 Black senior soft ball bat.

Two over 60 major plus players here in the Twin Cities have been trying out a prototype Miken Ultra 2 Black with no lettering or graphics, which Miken gave to them to hit and provide feedback to Miken. The bat has been very slow to break in. They have somewhere between 400 and 500 hits on the bat and it is just starting to break in. No word yet from them as to how it compares with other senior bats already on the market with respect to performance. It does, however, appear to be very durable.

I've been told that the prototype Miken Ultra 2 Black bats with no lettering or graphics that were given to certain players to try out could vary quite a bit in stiffness when new. This was because they were prototypes made in small numbers and not production models.

Therefore, before you place an order, you may want to wait to get feedback from the players who purchase actual production model bats in mid-September.

Mike Kelly received a 26oz prototype and in his video of this bat he has the same results as Alan. If it does take a little longer to break in and last over 2000 swings with senior pop I would buy one. I love the Big Cat it fits my swing but durability is no where close to the 2016 Big Cat. I plan on hitting a 28oz in September and all winter to break it in well for next year.

If you listen carefully to the Kelly Ultimate Sports video about the Miken Ultra 2 Black bat, it says it begins with the pastor hitting the bat after it already has about 200 to 300 hits on it. Therefore, it's probably well on its way to being broken in. Also, the pastor has done several demos of different bats for Kelly's on its website and he obviously can frequently crush the ball in the 350 to 380 foot range with USSSA as well as senior softball bats. Therefore, he is not your average senior softball player. He must have one super church team.

I dont know anything about the Miken New Bats. But the Melee 2 we hit is very good. Got the first proto types in. As like the Org Melee - pretty hot out of the wrapper and has that great swing weight. Like we told you - Its Coming... Will be out in 2016.

I dont think they will have the production line out by then. But I do believe the Pilot Run will be out around that time and I'll see if we can get some there for people to try.

The Bar has been raised in Senior Softball with the Dudley bat. Giving the players a bat that performs at a high level and gives you durability. Miken bringing out there New bat with these features. Its only going to make the Senior player get better. Using your bat for bp & games will only make you better.

Adidas/Reebok Melee 2 will also be following those same performance & durability standards and will be producing a High End Senior bat. Personally I love the Melee swing weight and how it comes thru so effortlessly. Adidas also uses there Composite technology with Taylormade Golf & CCM Hockey to get the best materials into there Senior bat.

The Dudley bats with the Grip Spin is awesome! John Loiars did a phenomenal job in engineering this bat.

I look forward to seeing everyone in Vegas!Safe travels and good luck in your tournaments!
