ratings
I heard some disturbing news the other day and finally decided to comment instead of letting it go. This statement was made by a regional directors at our team and the statement said as long as I have anything to do with it you will play major ball in ssusa but we are rated AAA in all other associations. I would of thought by now that he would have let things go from the past and just play ball but it does not look like it. The team several years ago was a major team with the players they had. But the new team has 13 of the 15 players are AAA the other two played with another team that was a major team and it clearly states you can have 3 but these players are not homerun hitters just good players. But since the director has a problem with a few players on this team he will not ever let us play AAA and that is very selfish attitude. We have tried to get rerated but have been turned down each time so we have not even been able to play in over 3 years and I thought that you were rated AAA when you started again. It just seems that ssusa does not look at the other associations and would not even consider the appeal even after we sent all the information because of this previous problem. Just to include this comment was heard by several other people.

L ... With your totally anonymous Message Board posting, it is impossible to even react to your statements ... We encourage you to correspond directly with the SSUSA Home Office (info@seniorsoftball.com OR george@seniorsoftball.com) on this ... If you choose to do so, specifics on who you are, what team, the tournament(s) where your version of events may have occurred and the name of Director(s) involved is mandatory if you would like us to respond ... If not, it just makes for (possibly) interesting reading on the Message Board and there will be no consideration on our part ... Thanks ...

Totally agree but what's even worse is a team that won Vegas last year as a Major team and now playing up one age group with 5 or more players from that team is still playing Major. Only certain teams get correct rating but until it is corrected SSUSA will continue to have Teams not playing in tournaments. Lost $$$ but they don't even care as long as Director gets his way.

hitman ... Same advice to you ... Message posts in this largely anonymous and unregulated forum are disregarded as "action items" ... The email addresses to contact are posted above ... Details are a must if you are seeking a relevant response ... Thanks ...

if you meet the requirement's the ssusa will move you down.just call George he will be glad to go over the requirement's you must meet to move down a class, but I can tell you right now not playing for three yr's and trying to come back as a lower team is not the correct way to go about getting a different classification.Just win vegas you will get moved up.if your team hit's all the hr's aloted then a bunch more for out's all the time good chance moving up,lot easier to move up than down to many sandbagger's

I have communicated with George and have had good information. Neck thank you for your information but we are lucky to hit 1 home run in most tournaments. I know that they say a good hitting team is good but how can you compete when a team with players that can hit homers at the time they need to be not solos. I know you are suppose to go out and get those type of players but this team is a lot like playing with family and therefore we do the best we can. This will be the last time that I will post anything about the problem and I hope that we can still play ssusa someday.

Neck we have not been to vegas in 3 years and finished mybe 16th we had 1 player go last year and played with a major but we were still a AAA team and he went with them because they didn't have a pitcher. I appreciate your come back but like I said before I tried to go to ussa first found email area I thought but would not let me go to it so posted probably should have checked a little farther but as stated before have corresponded with George and that is as far it will go.

We'll always have complaints and there will always -ALWAYS be mistakes made when attemtping to rate teams base on the small data sample that is used. SSUSA move up or down is based on basic fact that meets their criteria. That being said I think that typically you'll find the rating are fairly accurate. Winning at the next level takes time as did your current level. Just because you don't win a tourney or doesn't neccesarily mean that you are playing in the wrong (higher)class. There are a set group of "move up" tourneys that if you win you get moved up. That too is simply part of the criteria. Overall SSUSA does a good job with the rating. Not Playing 3 years to get re-rated is/was just a waste of three years.

titanhd the reason we didn't play was because the previous team came in 2nd in Dalton and then they left to play on other teams. At that time the team folded and came back 2 years later with all new players basically that had been playing AAA. So when we could not get rated in ussa there was no reason to waste 1,000s of dollars playing vegas and other tournaments in the ussa.

SSUSA- If a team wins the masters in las vegas, say as a AAA, they should get bump up to MAJOR.
QUESTION: HOW are the "other " associations notified of the re-rating in SSUSA of a team that gets bumped up.

whose responsibility is it to notify these other associations ??????????

looking forward to your response.
thanks

armiho211 - The three associations that have "reciprocity" regarding their National/World Champions are ISA, SPA and SSUSA ... Those organizations each actively report to the other two their Champions and the number of teams in each bracket ... We have already received the SPA Winners in the Dalton sessions that have taken place thus far, and we have received the ISA Champions list from last week ... SPA raises the ratings of their Champions immediately after their events ... We will be raising the ISA and SPA winners after our World Masters Championships in early October, along with the Champions from Las Vegas ... Hope this helps ...
