Dudley Lighning 12 inch senior bat. Webbing
My Dudley 12"lightning started webbing somewhere in the 200's.Has anybody else have the same results. My Dudley balance had webbing at around a 100. All you here is still looks new at 800 swings. Spider webbing isn't looking new. Bats hit great.

Mine is the 13" model, should be the same core though. I have close to 200 hits on it and after every game I clean the barrel so the tacky fell comes back. I inspect it every time and to this date have no webbing showing.

Congrats on your win in Vegas. I heard you were hitting it well.

I have 2 of the 12" Dudleys, one with about 500 cuts and one with approx 100. No webbing on either. Patty Mac has one with around 800 swings on it and it's still going strong. Definitely the most durable senior bat I've swung.

First I've heard of any webbing scenario. Please take a photo of this and send it to me. I'd like to see it. I'm getting positive feedback from around the country and news of 1800-2400 hits and still going strong.
Thanks,

The webbing doesn,t bother me. I just wanted if it was normal. I know Dave V on senior softball bat review said his started webbing at around 300 swings. I'll try to take a picture this weekend and send it to you Ed.

Lefty, I have over 1000 swings on my 12" Dudley and the bat doesn't show any kind of stress.
I believe the spider webbing that you refer is caused by a clear coat that doesn't flex. To my knowledge it was first noticed on the grey Combat. I don't believe the Dudley will ever show any kind of webbing since it doesn't have that type of finish.
Maybe you could post pictures of your bat on softballfans.com.

I sent Ed the pictures of the 2 bats. I'll try to figure out how to post it on Softball Fans. Winky just sent me an email stating we are attending the TOC in FEB. I'm not worried about the Dudley bats. The big cat is my gamer at the moment.

I too have well over 1,000 hits on my 12" Dudley and found that the clear coat / tacky finish has worn off on a couple of spots and underneath the tacky finish, the barrel is very smooth. No spider webbing at all. Bat is hitting great. Dudley has a nice they built.

Lefty...how would you compare the big cat to the 12" dudley.I'm planning on buying one of them.I'm not a smasher but I prefer the endloaded bats.

In my opinion I would have a better batting avg. With dudley. Hits great line drives and have no problem hitting the over a 300 foot fence. At the mement the Big Cat for distance out hits the dudley12". From what Bruce tells me when the 12" gets broken in well it will out hit the big cat. I have a 28oz. 12". But the next one I will buy will be a 29oz. With my swing I'll get a little more in distance.

Thanks Lefty, that's good to know.Is the reason for going with a 29oz is that to help you let the weight of the bat do the work for you?

For me it is Don. Don't weight 250lbs so I have to have an equalizer. It works for me. Heavy endload.

My Miken Ultra II one piece balanced just broke today. I loved it. But, I hear that the Dudley Lightening Legend balanced model will out-perform my Miken (distance; durability). Can anyone confirm before I order a new bat? Thanks.

Does anyone know if the Lightning bat has better cold weather durability than Miken U2's or other Composite bats?

I have all 3 models of the Lightning and no signs of spider web or cracking, but have noticed the 12 inch end load seems to light up the sky when you connect with the ball! It has distance and lazer shots, very pleased with this bat so far.

From my experience and from receiving many feedback calls and emails from players, the Lightning seems to be the most durable bat currently available. I live in cold climate and hear from others who also live in colder climate locations. So far durability exists.

Got one of these wonderful bats, after about 200 swings, REALLY, opened up.Problem is i am getting non-removable ball scuffs.I have tried all "old"remidies, but am afraid i will hurt the sticky surface.Any ideas or is anyone else having these problems.

Bullet: If Terryt123 does not hook up with you on an OG U2, I would be interested in a 28 oz, if you have one. Again, only if you do not do a deal with Terryt123.
