We (Allstate/Miken) had a great game against Turn 2/Reco Sunday morning. We came up just short. In the last inning I had a chance to turn an unassisted double play at first but their runner was just one step too fast. I got the out at first but he beat the throw at second.

After a rare rainy evening the games on Friday were posponed till Saturday. We had a by and stilled played 5 games on Saturday. Some playled 6.
We could have, should have played Friday afternoon.

Congratulations to Ct. Sportsplex, especiallyl to Red on his walkoff grand slam!

Donnie-
You guys moving up next year?? Clatta's getting OLD (since he's at LEAST 5 months older than me)! I know a lot of your guys are still "young" but we need some new blood up here in the 60's!

Clatta's good friend,

Does anyone know the results of the 55 AAA in Las Vegas?

Interesting problem came up again in Las Vegas - in the 55AAA Division Handeland Flooring came in under the team name Michael's, Handeland is a Major Plus team. Also the Old Dawgs out of California which is rated a Major team played in the AAA division.

Before someone starts yelling I know Michael's did not win the tournament but it does not change that they should never have played AAA.

Something needs to be done with teams that change their name JUST to sneak into a lower classification. I don't mind playing teams from my own division but when you pay $500+ you hope someone takes charge and doesn't allow this to happen.

When I spoke to the tournament director he was trying to reach Terry Hennesay to confirm Handeland/Michael's ratings - I suggested he just go ask them which he did and they told him they were a Major + team. So the tournament director said if they win the tournament he just wasn't going to give them their awards. WOW big deal in the mean time they force other teams into the loser brackets or send someone home - not a good plan.

Senior Softball charges plenty of money for ALL tournaments - I would hope we can police them better.

MikeC - I checked the Ratings information here and see that Handeland is a major-plus team, but Old Dawgs 55s are a AAA team and have been for awhile. I know weird things happen in LV cause guys want to go play there even if their team doesn't. I agree with the concerns you raised about teams in wring pools, but you have a stronger position if you do just a little bit of fact checking first. The Old Dawgs 50s team is the major team.

Larry,
we are not sure what we are doing. we have about 7 or 8 players that are 60. we are looking at both options. there is a lot of competition at both levels. we will wait and see about sponsorship and see what most of our players woould like to do and then try to make some key pick ups at that age group.

we might need a lot of help to compete at the 60 level if we go that way.will have to see if we could find some quality ball players.

we will see.

Donnie, I hope that you do stay in the 55s as we have appreciated the opportunity to play you, CT and FL (eastern teams). Also, you have a bunch of great people on your team. If you do stay in 55s I hope that we can communicate about which events to play in next season.
I would like to extend this same thought to Mission TX, Grimes, Korba and Handeland Flooring... and also Cal Thunder and/or Old A's 50s if you decide to go to 55s.
