Looking for a team in Salt Lake City -south Jordan areas
just moved to Salt Lake City (South Jordan daybreak ) after spending most of my life in Jackson hole Wyoming. I'm retired 65 years old and remain active both in business and my grandsons live which are here in Salt Lake and are involved in sports. I would like to get in to a competitive over 65 team that does try out for the Senior games in St. George. It's been a while since I've played, but I played baseball since I was five to college, played in college and on the West Coast Army team in 1966 and 67 and did get tryouts for major-league. I lived baseball as my father flew for major-league team in the late 50's. I coached, and at 45 had to give it up after my kids went on to graduate school and medical school. Work consumed me. My wife of 42 years will be in North Carolina with the new grandson for six months which will give me some time to do something to keep in shape.

I don't know whether it's slow pitch or if they still play fast pitch at 65. I always loved fast pitch, I played third base for 20 years in fast pitch softball, I was a relief pitcher no speed, lots of junk, good for about three innings.

Hey Jack.... There are senior leagues at the valley complex in Taylorsville. They play on Monday and Wednesday night, starting in April. I don't have a phone number for you but if you call the county rec center I,m sure they can help you out. I have watch some of the 65 and older teams play and those guys can still play and they love the game. Good Luck in finding a team. I will be playing on both nights for a 55 team and a 50 team.

Jack,

There are acouple of good 60 teams in SLC and maybe one or two 65 teams. Usually in the Spring they play at Cottonwood Complex and then the Valley Complex in the Fall. A couple of these teams go to the Huntsman games and one or two actually play SSUSA tournaments. BRL 60 just took second at the Spring worlds in St. George/Mesquite. If you live in Daybreak look up a guy named Jim Amicone, we have played together for years on different teams, he can give you a pretty good idea who to try and play with given your skill level. Jim also plays on a 60 Major SSUSA team called RYAN's Way.
