March 22, 2023 coop3636 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Music city Hey SSUSA I am not going to complain about the weather, fields etc, it happens. I want to know why this tournament was not treated as the rest. There was nothing on the message board about game times, there were no results etc. You had to go look on the tournament page to find out (this is different from all the other tournaments) Also, there should be some place on the website to get updates for new game times, etc. Our coach's phone went out and we didn't get the times until late. It was treated as a red headed step child. It can be a good tournament if treated correctly. It is one of the closest ones for us in the southeast. All that was given for 1st place for players were hats. At least give tee shirts, something someone might wear. Just my 2 cents Brett |

Nov. 29, 2022 coop3636 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Team Reclassifications My 2 cents I think that you need to finish in the top 10 (or a top % if a small group) 2 years in a row to have an automatic move up. I have seen teams never do anything all year and get hot in Vegas and make it to Sunday and get moved up. This makes it real hard to get a team to gel over a couple of years (especially if you have a team made up of friends who just like to play together) I know you want teams to play in the higher levels, but we play this game for fun and camaraderie. A "AAA" team that gets moved up before they are ready usually folds and you lose a team. And the winners of Vegas don't get to come back the next year and defend their title. Just my 2 cents Brett PS.. SPA used to have an automatic move up in Dalton (and teams quit playing because of it) Too many teams didn't want to have to move up if they just happen to have a good tournament. (I saw it happen too many times) The last year before SPA was sold, they removed the auto move up from the tournament and it doubled in size. I know SPA and SSUSA are different, it is just the same thinking. |

Sept. 19, 2022 coop3636 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Hows the new ball performing at worlds Dave? Hey SSUSA Here is my 2 cents about the balls in Vegas We are a 60 AAA team for reference. on a scale of 1-10 ... it is probably a 5 The balls hit ok if you keep a new ball in. The BAD part is that as soon as the ball hits the dirt, the cover becomes a tan color, and you cannot see it at all around dusk or under the lights. It is really a SAFETY problem. Noone could see the ball the last 3 innings of our game. It was really bad for both teams (we won the game so it's not an excuse) The stole ball is much better, but both teams had to hit the same ball so it was even, I am just letting it known that the cover needs to be changed if we are going to keep using this ball. Just my 2 cents Brett |

Aug. 19, 2022 coop3636 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: For Dave Dowell.... Hey Dave I just wanted to be the first to ask you when the fields would be decided for Vegas. ( I make it a point to always be the first to ask...lol) I know you just love hearing this question. As always, I am just trying to get you to smile. Have fun with the brackets. Brett PS.. I hope everyone knows how much effort you put in for this tournament. |

Aug. 15, 2022 coop3636 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Southern Championships Hey Everyone, The tournament is Dalton was run very well. The weather was great. The fields are fantastic (very large) but beautiful. I love the turf fields. The umps overall were pretty good (which usually isn't the case) Most of the games were on time. I hope SSUSA will have a couple of tournaments there next year (we don't have many in the southeast) The only neg all weekend was we only had one umpire per game until the last half of the championship game. CYA in Vegas. Brett PS. we did win our division, but that is not the reason for the compliments. |

Aug. 4, 2022 coop3636 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Dalton tournament Dave No problem I will be there.. Ib16..I love the 5 game guarantee.. I travel 6 hours to most tournaments, I like knowing that even if you have a bad weekend, you get to play more games. It also lets folks that don't get to play all the time more playing time. CYA in Dalton |
Aug. 3, 2022 coop3636 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Dalton tournament There is only 22 teams now, so it can be a Sat/Sun tournament. Hopefully next year it will be advertised better, I Know there are many teams that like to go to Dalton and play. IE in 2 weeks, there are LOTS of teams playing there. Just my 2 cents worth. Brett |

Aug. 1, 2022 coop3636 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Dalton tournament These are different folks running this tournament. Hopefully they will make it a sat/sun tournament. I would love to save a night of hotel and not missing work another day. It gets expensive. Either way I will be there, just trying to put in my 2 cents. Brett |
July 29, 2022 coop3636 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Dalton tournament Hey SSUSA Since we only have (4) 60 AAA teams, Will you please make it a Saturday and Sunday tournament? With the hotel and gas prices like they are, it will be nice to save one night on the hotel. Please let us know. Thanks Brett Cooper |
