Discussion: Buy in programs

15 or so years ago our 40 and older team had a buyin from Nike. Was from Lee Trotter, it was a great deal. Everybody on our team liked it, nothing negative.

I was personally at the factory and saw a few bats being made. The factory where they are being made also produces top of the line football shoulder pads and other products.

Discussion: New Rules

Dave will the new rule, §13.1 • COMPETITION, have any affect on playing with multiple teams in different age categories? Will this be determined by qualifying tournaments the team/players played in?

This would exclude major plus teams playing a different age category. for example a 55 major plus team also play in the 50 major plus division?

Discussion: Hate to ask, but I gotta ....

We wanted to go this past year but needed to add quite a few players. SSUSA wanted us to go and tried to work with us, but we had to stay within the rules. I would not be worried about facing a different quality team, they are fair and use common sense.

I agree with Jawood. 11 on the field would protect the pitcher and it would speed up games.

Mike, looking at the way you are swinging per the video on the other website, I think I would have to have screen if pitching to you. That new big cat in your hands almost looks like a toothpick.

I wouldn't mind seeing the 50, 55 & 60 each on different weekends. Probably too hard to put together though.

Discussion: Why is this rule not enforced??

I would make the mat extend 3" or 4" wider than the plate. Gives a little more back to the pitcher.

I agree that you have to learn to hit every strike thrown, but I could not DISAGREE more with chico's statement about becoming a real hitter by swinging at every BP pitch.

It mostly to do with so many other sports available for kids. When I was growing up, baseball was the only thing to play.

Discussion: Remember When...........

Sparky,
The young teams keep dropping in numbers. The SSUSA newsletter had some interesting statistics that Softball was the number one sport for those 55 and older.

Around here more and more girls fast pitch. Maybe that is the next big slow pitch market as they age.

Discussion: Does your team track player statistics?

A quick overview of clubteams.org.
Our beta version is free, no strings attached. Keep your roster info, schedule leagues and tournaments and send team messages. If you belong to other teams, add them for free. Keep track of everything in 1 place. If your grandkids play a team sport, you can have that in your dash panel and view as many teams as you follow or participate, no matter the team, (including dance and hockey which are the 2 fasted growing team sports today) and keep those memories year after year.
Our group decided that we wanted to start and perfect our program with add-ons in the senior softball market. Almost all of our management team are playing senior softball.
We have had some very good input on the top stats in our site and are making some changes. John Beasley really knows what he is doing and is leveling the playing field on the stats leaders. We will have updates of criteria on our site this week.
I am sure everyone knows that we are in this to make money. But, I want to make sure that everyone knows that we are NOT going to charge for the stat keeping, communications or scheduling as you see it. We soon will have features that you will be able to add at a small fee. We think we have some really fun features being added soon that people will pay for.
Thanks again,
Dave

Discussion: Does your team track player statistics?

Hi Scott, and thanks for our phone conversation. I look forward to talking again soon.
Currently statistics are input after the game, but our live scoring app is coming
We do believe that if a league or tournament offered our program to teams, that the communication portion would help. We are working with several local park districts and tournaments and have started that process.
Dave
