Congratulations, Fran. It is a truly deserving honor!! You have always been accommodating and with a smile, helping me with an issue. David is always there as well. You are an asset to Senior softball. The Scrap Iron T-Wolves send their congratulations as well. DuWayne Pillard S-Iron T-Wolves

Discussion: Hitting from tee vs. hitting pitched ball

Albert Pujois and Todd Helton advocate hitting off the T regularly. Pujois says he hits off the T regularly, especially to correct mechanical problems when his hitting starts to decline.

Discussion: Shortstop needed

We are in need of a shortstop. We are a 65 AAA team. We are sponsored for all tournament entry fees and for three uniforms and hats by one of the top softball organizations in the country. We have two tournaments left in 2015 which are The Rocky Mt. Championships in Aurora, CO in August, and the Las Vegas World Master Championships in Sept/Oct. If you feel you are tournament AAA level, and your state borders Colorado, please call 303-437-5340. This is a new team, so if you want to get in on the ground level of a quality team with a great nucleus of players and attitudes, this may be the team for you.

Discussion: USA Championship seeding game

Now that I have given my opinion on the seeding, I want to congratulate the teams in our division. The teams we played exhibited true sportsmenship. That is what makes Senior Softball so much fun.
Outside of the seeding format, I want to congratulate SSUSA for putting on this huge under taking of making the Vegas Worlds one of the best venues of Senior Softball anywhere. Thank you directors, and SSUSA staff!!

Discussion: USA Championship seeding game

We finished 4-0 in seeding and got a 4th seed. The teams playing for the East/West championship were 2-2 and 3-1.
They got the 1-2 seed.
If seeding is going to be done that way, why not just show up Tue. evening and start bracket play on Wed. and forfeit your seeding games since there is no reward anyway for playing in the seeding games. Why does the East/West game get a 1-2 bye? It has nothing to do with the teams playing big $$ to play in the Vegas Worlds? If you don't go to the Westerns/Easterns you are essentially penalized because there is no chance to play for a #1-#2 seed in Vegas the way the system is set up now.

Discussion: One needed for Rocky Mountain Championships

Need one player for Rocky Mt. Championships. Can be AAA. This would be for one tournament only. It will not affect your eligibility with your current team. Must be 65 in this current calendar year or older, and your state must touch Colorado. The dates of play are 15-17, August. The games will be played in Aurora, CO. We won Vegas in April, Southwest Nationals. We have been hit with injuries very hard. Please respond quickly, time is short.

Discussion: Thank-You Dave & Tommy

I would like to add that I had a concern for an umpire on his lack of professionalism as well. We were playing at BLD and I was having a snack in the concessions indoors. I saw Tommy walk by and asked him if he had a moment Not only did Tommy stop, he listened to what I had to say and didn't act like he was in a hurry. I know he is very busy, however, the interpersonal relationship skills he showed to me were in a manner that made me feel that he cared, and he does. He said he would investigate the matter, and I totally believed him. He has umpired many of our games in the past and is one of the best umpires that I believe SSUSA has. Thank you Tommy for your professionalism and unselfish character.

Hi Jerry, you are so true in the assessment of both teams. It is a pleasure mananging the Classics. I give a great deal of credit to four other ass't coaches who do an excellent job as well.
We are difinitley going to miss Ranison. He hadn't picked up a bat in a month or played ball. He came to this tournament just having eye surgery, still has one to go, plus he is having rotator cuff surgery today(4-28) He is definitely a warrior!! I will give him your well wishes from Git R Done. Give all the men on Git R Done my best, and you you as well Jerry.

We sure could use you Tom. Ranison is going to be operated on Monday. He is our shortstop. Ranison is a warrior, but he won't be back for at least six months. We miss you and would like to see you with us. Hopefully it will happen.

I would like to congratulate Git R Done men's 65 team. It was the typical Scrap Iron Git R Done battle in the Southwest Nationals. We had to play them twice to win the championship and we did. They did the same thing to us in 2013, almost a year to the day from this year's tournament. That is really not what I want to emphasize. I want to say what a pleasure to play Git R Done because everyone on their team is a gentleman. They exemplify what true sportsmanship is all about. Win or lose, they congratulate each of our players in a manner that you know is genuine. I hope that our Scrap Iron Classics team makes them feel the same way. It is a tribute to Jerry, their coach who sets the culture for their team. I know we will have more epic contests down the road, but it is always a pleasure playing your team, win or lose. Thank you Git R Done for setting the model for all Senior softball players.
