Discussion: Home plate mat size

marcster13 ..you weren't imagining it....they were smaller...i heard they had to use the bld mats.....our texas ssusa rep seems to think its ok to use the plate wide mat instead of the regulation (rules stipulated) mat....instead of breaking down and getting regulation size mats.....he just laughs it off......when asked....

to me any ball left after your game is open range balls......if your to lazy to go get them.....don't blame anyone for losing them....everyone else does it.........like i said i will go around the fields after the days done..and any ball left is a freebie as the org team feels they don't need to go chase their hr balls or out of play.....don't expect someone else to do your job of retrieving the balls.....and as for returning them to dave and his staff....welll most times by then they are gone home(after games done for the day)....and why should we burden them for storing your balls b/c you didn't want to go get them.......

how about going and retrieving your hr balls in a timely manner......many a time i have took a tour of the complexes after the days done and guess what....many balls still out there....mmmm....or the field we are on has balls still there when we go to retrieve ours..(teams that played before us in the day)......so guess what....i get to fill my practice bucket....

Discussion: 1-1 count and new ball

wow....hitters....hitters ...hitters.....hardly anything said about the pitchers....but have a pitcher throw it a tiny bit high and the batters go nuts....also on the low pitch.....how about letting the pitcher do something on the mound besides just toss it up to ya to see how far ya can hit it...let them juke and such..let them go higher than 12'..hell thats basically a flat pitch compared to the old days........batters don't like being in the box....what about the pitchers ...let them roam where they want out there .....and than the best thing i hear is they can't play with the 52-300 ball b/c they can't hit it 400'...poor batters......last i knew most all fences are 300'....we are using the hottest combo for most all the assoc's out there....why......like taking your 45 to paintball....

i think we still have more east/mdille texas teams show there than west texas comes to us for the states.....the only thing you get in el paso is the NM..AZ...and teams out there not from texas.....it is the texas state champs right.....well lets hold in a central place for all of texas where it should be easier to attend....not make it easier for other states to attend....how many teams in el paso vs the east/middle tx teams.....but hey lets have the malority of the teams go 1k miles vs a couple.....instead......and the one time we go west....hey its the worlds in vegas....guess we could stop that......
so don't pull that crap dave.......

Discussion: Today's "super" bats

ok et dave........all senior bats are supposed to be rated the same as the old asa bats....1.20/1.21 bpf when tested(depends on which ball being used....47 for 1.20...44 for 1.21).....making all bats basically the same....the 44 and the 40 balls have a way higher severity index as hj has pointed out.....i play with the 52 ball in both senior and mens open....pitching and the infield....yes we get the occasional bad hop...but no serious injuries from the 52 ball...bumps and bruises......the ball while travel fairly good all yr here in tyler...with hr hitters hitting their hrs.....
crusher no secret bats needed....just use your senior bat...no need for a gorilla swing either......dave actually hits them out with an old easton asa bat of his.....red synergy......also uses his senior bats....the 52 ball doesn't care what bat you use.....hr hitters will hit hrs and base hitters won't.....

Discussion: What Became of 30+ Ounce Bats?

hey everyone....its not how fast you can swing....its the speed you have after ball contact is what you should be looking for....yes demarini did a video showing this.....he could dry swing all bats from 26-29 oz almost the same bat speed (95 mph)....but when he hit a ball....they all lost quite a bit of speed after contact.....the 26 oz had the best after contact speed so he said that would be the best to use for him.......he did also say that most big guys could use the heavier bats b/c of their strength......and not have to worry about the after contact speed....he said to look for the highest after ball contact speed you can get for the bat weight...and use that bat weight.....i have the video he did....

i don't see it as time saving with a 1-1 count...but lets help the pitcher out.....you say why....hey look at all the advantages the hitter has now a days.....rocket launchers for bats...with balls to use that are just as bad(micro-cell cheater balls)......how about we go to the 52-300 ball....less worry of serious damage to anyone....the ones with the big egos get to still hit their hrs....and no one gets killed.....now tell me what advantage does the pitcher......none....

hey oz......MLB is starting to use time constraints....batters not allowed out of the box....pitcher mound visits are under 30 seconds now....pitchers in the minor leagues pitchers have a 20 second clock to pitch.......and they are close to bringing it up to the majors....to speed up the game....
but i'm not for 1-1 count b/c of time use.....i want it b/c i don't think we need the full count for slow-pitch softball.....

oz..i don't think i said they were all alike......so now you want the pitcher to be predicable for the batter.....come on.....its slow pitch.....not fast pitch.....using a baseball count is not needed....3-2 full count is more than adequate....no need for the extra foul either.....

oz40 really....you think everyone takes it to the full count in u-trip....also in u-trip you get the extra foul...which is completely ridicules......go ahead and try to get a full count with a 1-1 count and no foul to have...when i'm pitching....really would love to see it......

we use the NX3 now for our asa mens league and senior league now(supply your own ball asa park 52 ball only).....we have had no prol what so ever with the tattoo ball whatever one we choose....we have used the evil but they don't last.....the NX3 does......very good ball......i also think we should inter-grate it (52 ball) into our senior tourney's.....

yep curty....dead on....ASA has been doing it for years now.....these babies waiting on their perfect pitch....come on.....lets ..let the pitcher be in the game....also i would like to see the height limits go away......its not if the batter doesn't know where the ball has to be for a strike.....it has to hit a mat.....

on the 52's you don't need to over swing....for that matter you don't need to gorilla swing on the other balls......
