Discussion: Safety of players

During the course of tournaments there are fields which are a safety hazard due to the sun!! Umpires and directors know which fields they are but continue to schedule games regardless!!! When neither Pitcher can see the plate or see the ball thrown back from the catcher ( my catcher had to roll the ball back to me),how do directors/ umpires expect pitchers to see any softball hit back through the middle?
I had a ball buzz my head that I had no chance in hell to see it!! I asked if they could put up a net for the pitchers and was told that was not possible—- WHY NOT? They did delay the game for 10 minutes but it was still horrible!!!
Two days later my team got stuck on the same field — # 6 @ The Canyons in St George !! We were suppose to be on field 7 but the Director didn’t think it was safe for the 70’s team to play on field 6 —OMG it’s not safe for any team at 830 AM. Same results with pitchers not being able to see the plate and balls thrown back from catchers. They did delay game after we bitched about it !! I’m sure any game played there gets the same complaints!! Someone is going to get seriously hurt by poor decisions by continually playing without concern about safety!! For anyone that thinks this is no big deal —- why don’t you put a blindfold on and try to throw strikes and have guys take batting practice and smoke the middle !!! By the way—- infielders couldn’t see the ball either!!!
