Topic: Rules of the game
Discussion: Mask requirement when using pitching screen

My over 50's league requires pitchers to wear a protective mask but we using a pitching screen. We are required to pitch over the screen, not around it. The SSUSA 2019-2020 rules MANDATE wearing the mask for pitchers but say NOTHING about using the pitching screen. As a pitcher I feel more protected (behind the pitching screen) than the other infielders who are NOT required to wear a mask. Should these rules say that the mask is recommended, not mandated, when a pitching screen is in use? Thoughts?
